Page 3 MAGYAR HERALD 4th QUARTER, 1993 Season The of Qratitude Attitude is Upon Us! This is the time of year when our thoughts turn to giving thanks for the many benefits received during year...a thanksgiving tradition established by the Pilgrim forefathers, and faithfully followed by Americans for almost 372 years. On this forthcoming Thanksgiving Day of 1993, the world events, if they continue to proceed in the direction in which they have been going, give great reason for thanksgiving. Who would have imagined just a couple of years ago, of the events in our own native Hungary, East Berlin, Poland, Czechoslovakia and other nations, which are being reborn after years of oppression. And now, Christmas 1993 is upon us! Peace on earth and good will to men ought to invade our minds and hearts at this Christmas! In spite of all sudden historic changes while celebrating "Holy Night, Silent Night", are we not still surrounded with the deadliest weapons of all ages? Am I on the side of Peace and Love, or am I adding to the hatreds, quarrels, and bitterness on this earth? Sometime, when you are feeling low and depressed about everything around you, suddenly a little flash of Hope springs up and you find yourself saying "Isn't it wonderful? God is alive! Peace and Love will win!" □ Freedom Celebration on October 23 The Magyar Club on Saturday, October 23 will have a festive Banquet Program on the actual 37th Anniversary of the Magyar Freedom Fightat the Independence Holiday Inn.
