Tóth 100th Anniversary of the First Church’s actual legal organization May 3,4, 5,1991 It was the beginning of our Hungarian Church-Life in America — in fact — our Hungarian life in general on the New- Land. It was day of Pentecost in our American Jerusalem: Cleveland. Invitation letters were already mailed out by The First Hungarian Reformed Church, 10706 Buckeye Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44104. The Rev. Frank Endrei pastor, who is Magyar Club member, cordially invites all Hungarian churches and organizations to celebrate together. Rev. William Nyerges, assistant minister, is chairman of the Centenniel Committee. The actual date for the organization of the very first Hungarian church on the whole American Continent, was May 3, 1891. On May 3, 1991 at 7.00 p.m. (Friday) — on the actual historic Day — there will be an impressive Presentation of the highlights of the one hundred years by the Pastor Em. with an artistic musical accompaniment and congregational singing followed by Communion. On Saturday there will be a jubilant Anniversary Worship Service at 3:30 p.m. and a Festive Centennial Banquet at 5:30 p.m. The May 5, Sunday Services at 11:00 a.m. will conclude the celebration, followed by a closing lunch. It promisses to be a classical Birth-Day Celebration of Hungarian Life in America! The American Magyar Debrecen illik, hogy Ünnepi Ruhába öltözzék! Zászlóink lengjenek! May 19, Pentecost Day — Day of Farewell to the Rev. Imre Juhász, pastor of West Side Hungarian Lutheran church, long time member of Magyar Club. (Wife Edna is one of our honored Hungarian Mothers.) The morning Service will be followed by a great Banquet given by his church on his Honor at his retirement serving the congregation for 35 years. The church is at the corner of Dennison and W. 98th Street. For reservations the church office is to be called. It is indeed unfortunate that at the same time another Banquet will be given for the reception of the visiting Hungarian President, Árpád Göncz.
