18. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ due to the parking situation around the church. We all prayed for a good weather for our anuual Congregational Meeting in February and the good Lord gave us a beautiful day indeed ! Following the successful meeting we all enjoyned the tasty Chicken Paprikas expertly prepared by ou Youth Group. Their activities continued with several church breakfast and cookie sales in the following 2006. április Trentoni csigacsinálók közös névnapja (a három ülő hölgy mind 24-én született, és az álló Mrs. Katona sütött nekik tortát) weeks. All of these efforts were directed to meet a common goal for our young people, that is to visit the Hungarian Reformed Church School at Mezőtúr, Hungary this summer. The School is home to mentally handicapped children and several of our members already gave most generously to support this noble mission. Still, we know there is no real substitute to accomplish the good works in person ! So, to increase our understanding of the particular needs the School has a Pulpit Exchange took place between Trenton and Perth Amboy. Our sister congregation’s Pastor, Dr.Attila Kocsis has a first-hand knowledge of the School. His presentation to the youth and their leaders and parents are greatly appreciated here. We are happy to report that the fundraising efforts and planning for their leaders proved to be contagious. Our hard working Noodle Makers continued their work against the most inclement weather condition. Their birthday cake pictures clearly show the joy and the strenght that is present and growing in their weekly work fellowships. The Lorántffy Zsuzsanna Ladies’ Aid also work very hard to support the Chirch with their upcoming Stuffed Cabbage sale. So, with joyful gratitude in our hearts toward the Gracious Giver of all the good and perfect things in life, we faithfully seek His wisdom in all of our future endeavors as well! Rev. László Ujj, pastor AMREICAN HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH 9901 Allen Road, Allen Park, MI 48101 Tel: 313-382-1001 Pastor: Rev. Frank Varga. Dean Chief Elder: Margaret Tarkanyi God is good and His love endures forever! He has proved it to us once again in the past six months of 2006. We continue to praise and worship Him in our English and Hungarian services Sunday after Sunday. Both of our Choirs are contributing greatly to our worship with their voices. Our children are growing in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ as they come and joyfully participate in the curriculum and activities of the Sunday School in both languages under the faithful and dedicated guidance of our teachers. During the spring a few children from our Sunday School participated in the Join Hands Day activities of the HRFA. They assisted in planting two trees on the church property and were reminded that as trees grow we all must grow in faith and in following the Lord. It is a tradition that they prepare a program for Mother's Day. This year too they had a presentation that touched the hearts of Mothers and Grandmothers. In our adult Bible studies we are currently examining the book of Esther. The faithful participants are always eagerly looking forward to the coming chapters to discover more about God's providence and purposes for their lives. The Confirmation Class of 2006 consisted of three students. On May 28th John A. Bujdoso, Austin T. Molnár and Ashley T. Rudin publicly professed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It was uplifting to hear their intentions to participate actively in the life of the congregation to use their talents and eventually become members of the Council. Beside the time spent in the classroom, discussions and with homework the students met with mentors and gained practical insight from their walk of faith and experience. The groups of our church: Busy Bees, Dorcas Guild, MAHAK, Martha Circle, are diligently working for the benefit of the congregation. The Prayer Chain is meeting for a time of prayer every Sunday as they are dedicated to the ministry of intercession. The Nursing Home Ministry is faithfully visiting the shut-ins twice a month in our area. Following the festive events of this ecclesiastical season we are looking forward to a blessed period of growing in faith, hope and love as we serve our Lord. Rev.
