MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 13. oldal moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where he took over as minister of the Hungarian Reformed Church there. In Bethlehem his daughters Eva and Katalin were bom. In 1956 he returned to California to the Los Angeles area this time. In 1958 he became the founding minister of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Hollywood, while he was an agent for the Hungarian Reformed Federation to sell life insurance. Reverend Bertalan Negyessy was the founding minister of the Free Magyar Reformed Church of Ontario where he officiated for 31 years. The third church he founded began in 1959 with the rental of the Methodist Church on the Comer of Euclid and I Street in Ontario, where his son László was baptized in early April 1960. Shortly thereafter he and friend Dr. Peijessy located 5 acres and a small house on 6th Street and purchased it by putting down a deposit of $50.00. The house was remodeled into the small church. Next the Zagonyi Hall was purchased and remodeled. It had been a barracks at March Air Force Base, which took three days to transport to Ontario. In 1964 Reverend Negyessy over saw the building of the Church Apartments. Not wanting to return to Hungary under Communist rule, he always said he would visit after the Iron Curtain was gone, which his family thought would never happen. In 1988 after 40 years of living in the United States his wish came tme. At that time he still had a brother and sister living there and many, many nieces and nephews. He made a longer visit the following summer and in 1990 he moved permanently back to Viss, the village of his birth. After returning to Hungary, in September of 1992 he was honored to receive the Golden Diploma from the Reformed Theological Academy of Debrecen, for 50 years of service as a minister of the Hungarian Reformed Church. In 1998 he received a Diamond Diploma in recognition of 60 years of service to the Church. He, as a good father - was a guider, provider, generous and understanding to his children Eva, Katalin and their husbands Anthony and John. He was a loving father to his son László, and to his grandchildren: Bryce and Christopher and Kati and Alexander. He gave everything he had for them, especially for his support and love. He provided the love to his family and never backed out his responsibilities. Thanks for his faithful life which was sacrificed on the oltár of God, thanks for his hard work and heartfilled service for his beloved Church in Ontario, California. The almighty God grant his peaceful rest at eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Sándor Szabó, Dean, Ontario, CA CS Az Ur 2003. esztendeje október hava 19. napján vasárnap délután Jane Lew, WV- i otthonában Gondviselő Atyánk a segítőkész és hűséges felesége Nagytiszteletű Asszony gondozó karaiban 78. évében átölelte és magához emelte a gondos férjet- jó édes apát-nagyapát Nagytiszteletű Tamás Dénes nyugdíjas lelkipásztort, az Amerikai Magyar Református Egyház Nyugati Egyházmegye tiszteletbeli esperesét, „Bakony hát” szülöttjét, a magyar puritán szellemben nevelt és munkára küldött fiát. a mindnyájunk által nagyrabecsült szolgatársat. Életét és az igehű szolgálatát Isten ajándékának tekintjük. Családjával együtt az Úr szántóföldjének kitartóan bizonyságtevő magvetőjeként éltek és dolgoztak. Azokkal rokonította magát, akik megvetik a könnyű fajsúlyú „fecsegő felszín” alakoskodó, munkát gátló szellemét. Az Amerikai Presbiteriánus Egyház megbecsült szolgálattevője volt, amikor 1980 novemberében a McKeesport-i Magyar Református Egyház lelkipásztorául választják. Nyolc éven át „őrhelyén állva”, amiből négy esztendő esperesi munka, szólta angol-magyar nyelven az Isten drága Igéjét. A gyülekezet, mint az egyházmegye szintjén az apostolok ösvényét járta, és az Ige feltétlen tekintélyét hangsúlyozta. A zsinat-presbiteri egyházi rend szigorú őre, talán azért, mert szülőföldjén, Pápán 1617-ben alakult meg az első magyar református presbitérium. A jó Isten erősítse és vigasztalja a veszteség súlya alatt szenvedő édes szeretteit feleségét a Nagytiszteletű Asszonyt, jó gyermekeit Eszter, Pál, József-Zoltánt családtagjaikkal, az unokákat, a közeli-távoli rokonokat, tisztelő híveit és lelkipásztor társait.
