2. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 1 szerkesztő asztalára érkezett: OUR NEWS IN THE ’’REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA” The Reformed Church of Hungary has a weekly newspaper: „Reformátusok Lapja” that informs our people on five continents about important events, meditations of the worldwide Hungarian Reformed Community. The past several years the editor of this publication granted regular columns to the diaspora churches, like our American congregations. This way we went through a certain demytholo­gization process that enabled our people to feel interrelated through the same faith heritage reflected upon in the Reformátusok Lapja. This is a great achievement created by an editorial vision that supposed to be well appreciated by our American Hungarian Reformed Churches regardless our denominational affiliation. I hope that the present practice will continue in the future further building our fellowship even over the Ocean. Rev. PLT HÍREINK A MAGYARORSZÁGI REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJÁBAN A Magyarországi Reformátusok Lapja öt kontinensen élő híveinknek viszi mindazokat a híreket és meditációkat, melyek szavai a testvériség megélésének, megérzésének hídjait építik közöttünk. Az elmúlt években a szerkesztő hangsúlyosan biztosított helyet diaspóra híreknek, igy tudósított amerikai magyar egyházi életünk eseményeiről. Ezen a módon kiléptünk misztikus távolságunkból és az igazabb összetartozás élményét segítette elő a Reformátusok Lapja. Ezt a nagy eredményt a szerkesztő sajátos látomása segítette elő, melyet tudomásom szerint nagyra becsülnek a különböző egyháztestekben élő amerikai lelkészek és egyháztagok. Remélem ezt az utat járja a jövőben is a Lap, hogy tovább építse kapcsolatainkat az Óperenciás tengeren innen. Someone has said of today’s Christians: ’’Too many people have just enough religion to feel uncom­fortable doing wrong, but not enough religion to feel comfortable doing right." It also has been said that too many of us have been inoculated with a mild form of Christianity, just enough to make us immune to the real thing. In other words... To many of us don’t take our religion seriously enough to affect our lifestyle. Too many of us don’t put our religious beliefs into practice.
