12. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ CHURCH CAMP 2000 The first Hungarian Reformed Youth Camp of the 2000’s was another successful event. More than 90 people attended as either campers, staff, or guests, and represented 16 different congregations. This year’s main theme was “Choices - The Truth and Consequences.” The topics related to all types of choices that today’s teens face: relationships, life styles, the real world, and their faith in God. The campers were made aware of the number of choices that they must make daily in their lives and how some of those choices could have long lasting consequences depending on what decision(s) they make. Presenters included Revs. Leslie E. Martin and Karl Ludwig, Kathy Smith, and two outside speakers. Our guests were from Tri-Area Youth for Christ and Fellowship for Christian Athletes from Youngstown. We thank them all for their presentations and the time they were able to share with us. Morning lectures were reinforced in the evening workshops, which dealt with how the media influences our lives. In the afternoons, we had Bible studies and group game activities. All these added together made for a wonderful camp. It should be noted that three young counselors helped lead the Bible studies. Our churches should be very proud of the efforts of John Molnár, Mike Király, and Sandy Szepesi. These three individuals did an outstanding job with their topics and it showed the campers that other well prepared persons, besides ministers, can and should lead Bible studies at camp and in their home churches! However, the campers and staff learned some very important things in a different way when we went on our annual trip to the Bethlen Home in Ligonier on Wednesday afternoon. A special service project was performed by the entire camp this The Counselors of the Summer Camp.
