Hétfő reggelre megérkeztek a lelkipásztorok is. akik a Presbiteri Szövetség tagjaival közös istentiszteleten éltek az Űri Szentvacsora jegyeivel. A déli harangszó mindenkit a Moria hegy tetején talált, ahol az új Bethlen Otthon „Kapavágási” ünnepségein vettek részt. A Lelkészegyesület kétnapos konferenciáján dr. Gerald Sanders lelkész a „Cultural Marxism”, míg Csorna László, a Felvidék püspökhelyettese „A Szlovákiai Református Keresztyén Egyház közösségformáló szerepe a kisebbségi magyarság életében” címmel tartottak előadást. A Bethlen Home új építkezéseiről ifj. Bertalan Imre igazgató lelkész és Michael Walker adminisztrátor számoltak be. — Forró Sándor és Medgyesi Lajos püspökök, Vass Zoltán társelnök és Póznán Béla püspökhelyettes, valamint Szabó István és Szabó Edward zsinati főgondnokok a Magyar Reformátusok Világtalálkozóját értékelték ki. Az eredményes találkozó után úgy a lekipásztorok, mint a világi vezetők kinyilvánították azon véleményüket, hogy a lelki meggazdagodásukon kívül a szalonnasütés, a borjúpörkölt és a kiváló ligonieri konyha mind-mind hozzájárult a háromnapos ünnepi találkozó sikeréhez. Szabó István AMERICAN HUNGARIAN REFORMED PRESBYTERS ASSOCIATION Recommendation 2000: 1. Recommend that the American Hungarian Reformed Presbyters Association make a $200 donation to the Bethlen Home. 2. Recommend strong support of the current leadership of the Youth Camp and in token of this support, increase the donation to $400. 3. A syllabus/course outline be developed by clergy to aid in the training of consistory members. 4. Recommend that an evaluation instrument be developed that would assist congregations in the evaluation of their clergy. 5. Recommend that each church delegate an Elder and a youth member to greet the people as they enter the church each Sunday morning. 6. Recommend that a delegate from each church be appointed to act as a liaison between the churches and their groups (youth organization, women’s guild, men’s club, etc.) to increase communication and interaction. 7. Recommend that the minister and elders visit their churches members annually and utilize the youth of the congregation in these efforts whenever and wherever possible. 8. Recommend that a Christian Education Workshop be held as a sub-function of the American Hungarian Reformed Presbyters Association meeting. A clergyperson will oversee the conduct of the workshop. 9. Recommend that the American Hungarian Reformed Presbyters Association continue to encourage the development of seminars and workshops to upgrade church music programs. 10. Recommend that a copy of these recommendations be sent to all churches to be read to their congregation. Gyula Illyés: HOW SOON...
