We recommend that the group subscription for the Magyar Egyház be raised from $4.00 to $5.00 beginning the year of 1999. Individual subscriptions will remain $6.00 per address. VEGGIETOWN SUNDAY SCHOOL A BIG HIT The goal of the VeggieTales video founders was a simple one: to share God’s truth with children in a fresh, engaging way. They felt very strongly that if children fell in love with their characters instead of Hollywood’s, they could use the characters to point children toward God and build a foundation of biblical values strong enough to last a lifetime. VeggieTown Values - Building Citizens for God’s Community provides an extraordinary opportunity for children to gather in Christ’s name. Designed as a Vacation Bible School, VeggyTown Values is adaptable to meet any church’s needs. We have chosen to use this program as our Sunday School curriculum from September 1998 through June 1999. The curriculum is based on Ephesians 2:19-22. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. In addition, in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. (NIV translation.) Not only is the curriculum an innovative, biblicallybased program, it also provides - Christian values for children of all ages, help with real-life problems that children have, develop family relations, biblical life applications, snacks, games, videos, special prayers and notes for home to review the weekly theme with parents. Some of the values that are taught are accepting others, overcoming fear, doing what is right, forgiving one another and serving others. The children’s response to this program has been one of much spiritual growth, that has not only been seen in Sunday School, but in school and at home as well according to the children’s parents. Our Sunday School has not only doubled in children, more importantly; the children have become more regular in attendance. Bottom line - the children love it and it is working to build Christian citizens. I would enjoy sharing the children’s experiences from this program thus far, if you are interested you can leave a message along with your number with the church office.
