We continue as a strong congregation devoted to our church and to our faith. We currently have 2 students in our Sunday School and one young man in the junior confirmation class. On October 17, 1998, we hosted the meeting of the New York Classis, which was well attended and very productive. Our dedicated ladies prepared and served a delicious luncheon for the 17 guests. On November 22, we participated in the 95th Anniversary Thanksgiving Banquet in Perth Amboy. Also that day, we attended an evening community Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service along with 7 other local churches and temples. Pastor Les Martin participated in that service. We have begun preparations for the Christmas season. The children decorated the Christmas tree with traditional Hungarian cookies, gilded walnuts and crocheted snowflakes on December 4 and 5, while the adults made kolbász. Our annual Christmas party was well attended, and we all look forward to the Christmas Eve candlelight service.
