When it came time for our school closing play, we asked the children what story they would like to do. Needless to say, We weren’t too sure how the congregation would react to our bringing a whale into church, but “Jonah and the Whale” won out. Sunday School always finds time to have fun! One Sunday each month we celebrate together with those in our school who are enjoying their birthdays. We had a really special trip at year end. The children, teachers, and some of our church members, went on a trip to Great Adventure Safari Park. Through the generosity of the Magyar Reformed Church of Perth Amboy, we were able to use their bus. Ron Ruskowski was our bus driver for the day. We had a chance to see some of the most interesting and magnificent animals. We stopped at McDonald’s for lunch on our way home. A great time was had by all. We would like to thank Rev. Peter Toth for his constant leadership and support. Without his guidance we would not be able to do all the things we do during the year. Our thanks also goes out to the ladies of the Lorantffy Women’s Guild for their moral and financial support. Last but not least, we would like to thank the congregation for being such strong supporters of our Sunday School. We know it is not easy to put up with the additional disturbances when youngsters are in church. However, you would be surprised how much the students are learning by being upstairs during Communions, baptisms, etc. Now we would like to take a moment to thank our teachers, Debbie, Helen, and Jennifer for their constant and steadfast support. For putting up with our moods when things are not going quite as hoped for, but most of all for their love for our students. They have truly been a blessing to us and to the Sunday School. May God keep your hearts filled with the enthusiasm and dedication you have shown. WE NEED YOU! We ask for God’s blessing upon every member of our church. Ft. dr. Csiha Kálmán, az Erdélyi Magyar Református Egyházkerület püspöke találkozott a presbitérium, a Női Kör tagjaival, valamint hozzátartozóikkal, akikkel vacsora közben elbeszélgetett. Fodor Dénes lelkipásztor köszöntötte a püspököt és presbiterünk, dr. Erdélyi Endréné, Sárika ismertette egyházunk történetét megalakulásától napjainkig. Vasárnapi ünnepi istentiszteletünkön zsúfolásig töltötték meg híveink és vendégeink a templomot. A püspök igehirdetésének alapját a Máté 14:22-23 idézetek képezték. A tanítványok egy drága partról indultak el. Ott tanította a sokaságot Jézus és ott vendégelte meg egy pár kenyérrel és hallal az 5000 embert. Az Isten szeretete közelségének partja volt ez. „Én is egy drága, régi partról, Erdélyből jöttem hozzátok.” mondotta a püspök. „A ti életetekben is van egy régi part, egy régi ház, egy régi kert, a már régen elköltözött szülők szeretete, amit a szívetekben hoztatok magatokkal. Tudtok-e ilyen Isten közelségét sugárzó partot adni gyermekeiteknek, unokáitoknak, akik tőletek indulnak el a nagyvilágba? Akiknek nincs ilyen partja, az mind gyökértelen ember marad.” Dr. Csiha Kálmán püspök Nagy Bálint és Fodor Dénes lelkipásztorokkal.
