CELEBRATION KTS?« Immediately following the service everyone gathered outside by the church’s cornerstone for a re-dedication service of our building. As we looked at the items in the copper box, some dating back to 1905, we couldn’t help but feel that we were taking part in something spiritually and historically significant. The touching portion of this special rededication was the individual notes and pictures prepared by our children and placed in the box for future generations to see. Perhaps it will be some of their grand children who will read the messages years from now! The shared feelings, which spanned time and tied us at that moment with those who had lived before us as well as those yet to be bom, touched many of us. The Three Door Restaurant in Bridgeport once again provided us with their mixture of fine food and warmth. We were fortunate to have Rev. Dr. Alexander Havadtoy as the Master of Ceremonies. Rev. Havadtoy has been a good friend of our congregation for many years. Rev. Arlene Studcr, representing the Fairfield East Association of the Connecticut Conference, joined us for the banquet. A continental flavor was added by Rozsika. Among the dignitaries present we were honored to have with us the Consul. General of the Republic of Hungary, Balazs László and his wife, Ibolya. As a way of sharing our joy with those who attended the banquet, a special pewter ornament depicting a dove centered in the name of our church was handed out. I hope that as families hang the ornaments on their Christmas Trees they will remember the special feeling we shared that day. At the appropriate time our Master of Ceremonies Rev. Havadtoy, introduced various church members who brought greetings on behalf of their respective organizations: Mr. Andy Zudla from the Brotherhood; Mrs. Nancy Szwejkowski, President of the Women’s Guild; Nancy Pundy, Joanne Greenstcin and Margie Mingrone representing the Church School; Michael Szwejkowski from the Bingo Committee, Louis Babycos, and Gerald Szor. As with all endeavors such as our anniversary, numerous people had a part in making the day not merely successful, but more importantly, truly memorable. I would like to thank the members of the Anniversary Committee: Mr. Emil Bajko, Mrs. Helen Canaiy, Mrs. Nancy Szwejkowski, Mr. Louis Babycos, Debbie Brenneis, Mured Csire, Marie DeFrancis, Teresa DcFrancis, Joanne Greenstein, Lisa Russell, Helen Szilagyi, Nancy Szilagyi, Gerald Szor, Helen Timadi, Arlene Vaisil, Vincent Vida, Andy Zudla. Finally I would like to thank Mrs. Jean Burke for the artwork adorning the program and Banquet Program Book. Mr. Joe Brenneis did the actual printing. The organizational pictures and cover for teh Pictorial Directory were taken by George Szilagyi. Rev. Dr. Anthony Szilagyi Reverend Dr. Szilagyi addressing the banquet Mrs. Margie Mingrone, Mrs. Nancy Pundy and Mrs. Joanne Greenstein bring greeting on behalf of the Church School.
