6. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ Brunswick-ból, Perth Amboy-ból, Carteretről, Roeblingből valamint a New York-i Poughkeepsieből érkezett. A konferencia elnöke, Prundl Zsuzsanna, alelnöke Bollok Barbara, pénztárosa Hunyady Piroska, titkára Hatten Pearl, káplánja pedig Dorko Brigitta lett a választások során. A következő évi gyűlés házigazdája a cartereti egyház lesz. Már sötétedett, amikor asztalok köré gyűltünk a New Brunswick-iak által elkészített vacsorához. Ez igazi lakoma volt, s valóban átéreztük, amit a templomban énekeltünk: Isten velünk, viszontlátásra. Az új tisztikar eskütétele Tóth Péter László YOUTH CONFERENCE IN TRENTON, NEW JERSEY It was on the 6th and 7th of May that the Youth Conference of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America and the Calvin Synod took place at the Hungarian Reformed Church of Trenton in NJ with 60 youngsters participating. Thomas Karla, pastor of the hosting church as well as with greetings from Miss Danielle Tobin, president of the youth group of the Trenton Church. Then Mr. Gabriel Csapó, youth advisor of the hosting church held an address on commitment, theme of the conference. Following the introduction, the discussion turned into a theatrical performance of sorts, at which the live of famous personalities such as Adam and Eve, Abraham, Moses, David, the Apostle Paul and the Apostle Peter were acted out by participants of the Conference, with questions asked on the part of the audience. The program on Saturday afternoon ended with a prayer by Rev. Peter Toth from Carteret. The spirits of all those in attendance were lifted by a Christian rock concert which featured modern songs and music with biblical implications. At the pizza party, subsequent to the Saturday evening concert, no one exhibited signs of tiredness from long trips and the long day, rich in happenings. On Sunday, the day after the English-language worship service was performed by young participants who told the congregation about their experience of commitment to Jesus Christ. The Youth Conference was concluded with a lunch after which everybody said farewell to one another in a spirit of love, faith and peace. Next year’s conference will be held in Columbus, Ohio. Rev. Thomas Karla
