MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 15. oldal együttérzéssel fordult a különböző szükségállapothoz. Segítettük a nagyváradi Sulyok István iskolát, egy budapesti óvodát, valamint a horvátországi menekülteket. Egyházunkat Isten még egy rádiós szolgálattal is megáldotta. Minden vasárnap délután igehirdetéssel fordulhatunk a 75 km-es körzetben élő magyarokhoz. Ez a szolgálatunk sok olyan egyháztagunkat érint, akik fizikai akadályok miatt nem tudnak közénk jönni. A lelkész rendszeresen visz úrvacsorát az öregotthonokba vagy az ottani betegeskedőknek, valamint családlátogatást végez minden héten. A köztünk lévő agapé szerves része a nyári hónapokat kivéve a minden vasárnapi egyházi ebéd fél 1-kor, amikor több mint 100-an együtt ebédelünk istentisztelet után és kellemesen eltöltjük vasárnap délutánjainkat. Vasárnapi egyházi ebédeink vezetője Pipó Ferenc. Az ebédek előállításában fáradozóknak innen is köszönet. A gyülekezeti munkálatok mellett elmúlt esztendőben az Amerikai Magyar Református Lelkészegyesület pénztárosságát, a ligonieri gyűlés után pedig jegyzőségét végzem. A hivatali esküt dr. Mészáros István miskolci püspök vette fel a tisztségviselőktől. A new York-i Egyházmegyében a lelkészi tanácsbírói tisztséget viselem. Az elért eredményekért „egyedül Istené a dicsőség’’. On November 28th, the First Sunday in Advent, at our worship services we observed the Lord’s supper to inspire us in our preparation for Christmas. During the English Worship Service our children were with us at the beginning of the service when together we conducted our Advent Wreath Service. On December 5th following our regular Worship Services under the sponsorship of the Women’s Guild our Annual Christmas Bazaar was held in the Church Center. Thanks again to our members who by their donations and hard work made this venture of the church another successful event. On December 18th and 19th a group of our young people and church members visited our members* homes with their Christmas Carols keeping alive an old tradition. On December 19th Sunday morning following our English Service the Christmas Programs of our Sunday School was celebrated with a Christmas Breakfast. Our Christmas Eve Service will be held on December 24th at 7:00 p.m. and on Christmas Day English Worship Service with Holy Communion will be held at 9:00 a.m., Hungarian Service with Holy Communion at 11:00 a.m. We extend an invitation to our members, families and friends to join with us in receiving the most precious Christmas gift- Jesus into our hearts. Our holiday closing service will be held on Sunday, December 26th at regular Sunday Worship schedule. On New Year’s Eve combined worship service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Our first service in the New Year will be held on January 2, 1994 at regular time. May God grant to all a blessed Christmas season and a Happy New Year. At the writing of this report our 90th Anniversary Celebration is behind us. In this issue of the Magyar Egyház under separate heading report is given on the celebration. In this place we would like to extend our thanks to our members, who made this celebration possible. Looking forward to the activities of these two remaining months of the year we would like to give a schedule of activities that are before us. On November 25th the Day of Thanksgiving an English Service was held commemorating the first Thanksgiving of 1621 when we expressed our thanks to the Lord for all His goodness toward us throughout the year as individuals and as a congregation.
