On Labor Day weekend, 11 of our church elders attended the Annual Presbyters’ Conference in Ligonier, PA. The occasion brought a good deal of friendship and an opportunity to learn more of the life and activities of our sister churches and more knowledge of the life of the Bethlen Home. Our Pastor also participated in the Ministerial Meetings held at Labor Day weekend. On September 6th, a group of members filled our church bus, that they may participate in the Billy Graham Crusade held in the New Jersey Meadowlands. It was an opportunity to share in the concern of the moral and spiritual needs that this great evangelist shares in. On September 7th, Saturday, under the sponsorship of the Christian Education Committee, a wonderful Church Family Fellowship and Covered Dish dinner was held in the Church Center. Attendance was a record. On September 8th, the Opening Celebration of the new Christian Education Season was held. Our children and teachers received special blessings and the empowerment of the Great Master Teacher Himself. With the autumn season, the work of our Church organizations is under way. We are happy to report that our Christian Youth Fellowship has been reorganized. Truly we must express thanks for this to Almighty God, and to the Annual Youth Conference, where our young people received new inspiration. Following the opening meeting of the new season, our Women’s Guild members ventured into a Fall Rummage Sale, with great finaneial result. Our Pastor participated in the farewell celebration of Rev. Kalman Adorján by the Trenton Congregation upon his retirement, held on September 22nd. On the first Sunday of October we joined together with all believers in the Holy Supper, on the occasion of World Wide Holy Communion. On October 5th, we carried our best wishes to Mr. Leonard Sendelsky on the occasion of his 25th Anniversary serving as Chief-Elder in Carteret. We have informed our membership of all up-coming events at the church in our bi-monthly newsletter. It is our hope, that our Christian fellowship will be the drawing card for all our members, their families and friends, where they will find spiritual fulfillment in the company of the faithful.
