PERTH AMBOY, NJ At the time of our last report the Annual Meeting of the Congregation was not held yet, therefore, it is appropriate to report on its result. The Meeting was held on the 2nd Sunday of February, following a combined Worship Service. The Meeting was held in Christian understanding and love. The membership joyfully acknowledged our accomplishments in the last year, and after the report, the church was ready to elect the Officers and Elders of the Congregation. Chief-Elder Mr. Robert Zambo was re-elected, so were the two Vice-Presidents Mrs. Elizabeth Novak and Mr. Larry Molnár. Secretary of the Council Mrs. Pamela Lovász; Treasurer Mr. John S. Kovács and Assistant Treasurer Mr. Andrew C. Lovász. New Church Conucil members elected for a three year term are Mr. Andrew Lipnick, Mr. Frank Keserű and Mr. Leslie Ostro. Other 4 members of the Council have been re-elected to serve the three year term. On March 9th our Church hosted the Bishop’s Council Meeting, and in the evening the church family gathered for a Covered Dish Dinner in honor of the elected Church Council and Church organizations. In the last 15 years this was most participated Covered Dish Dinner in the congregation. With the Easter Holidays past, we are happy to report that our Church attendance was excellent. Both Palm Sunday and Easter the church was full of worshippers. We held Maundy-Thursday Services, Good-Friday besides of our own church service our Pastor and congregation attended the Community Good Friday Service. On Easter Sunday our assistant student was Mrs. Ollie Hall, student member of our congregation at Yale Theological Seminary. On April 14th under the sponsorship of the Women’s Guild we participated at a Theater Outing to see “Chorus Line.” On April 20th the Annual Spring Fair of the Christian Education was held in the Center. The congregation unitedly offered their presence and everyone had a wonderful time. Truly, the Good Hungarian Food of Chicken Paprikas and Stuffed Cabbage was a good drawing card. Looking at the happening in the month of May, it will not be any less active. On May 5th the women of the Congregation will participate in the Women’s Conference held annually by the area congregations, this time held at and hosted by the New Brunswick, Magyar Reformed Church.
