10. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ EASTERN AREA YOUTH CONFERENCE IN CARTERET Our Youth Conference was held on March 20th, Sunday afternoon at The Hungarian Reformed Church of Carteret, New Jersey. Registration started at 2:30 and the meeting started a few minutes after three with a worship service offered by the host Pastor Gabor G. Nitsch. Following the worship service, our guest speaker Dr. John Sensakovic made his presentation in a captivating and very clear simplicity about AIDS. He is the infectious deseases expert in the area, also teaching at Rutgers Medical School. We are proud of our speaker also because he is the son-inlaw of Ann Balka, who was our Youth Fellowship leader for many years. Printed material was handed out by Dr. Sensakovic’s two daughters. The presentation was followed by intense question and answer period. We all learned a lot about the origins and spread of the desease AIDS, and felt a little more comfortable to learn that you cannot catch it that easy by kissing or drinking after someone. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Sensakovic for accepting this assignment amidst his busy schedule. The different churches were well represented from the area, like Trenton, Perth Amboy, Linden, Passaic and Carteret, over 40 people. Following the presentation and discussions, fellowship dinner was awaiting our youth in the church basement, prepared by Mrs. Ilona Nitsch and Vice-Chief Elder Michael Kovács and his wife Nancy. The day will be unforgettable for us, because this was the first Sunday of Spring which started with a horrible snow storm, but by afternoon it was springlike with clear sky, though chilly. We urge the youth leaders of our churches that they reach out and bring more youth to our next Conference! CHURCH WOMEN UNITED CONFERENCE — May 1, 1988 in the MAGYAR REFORMED CHURCH of Perth Amboy, Kirkland Place, at 3:00 p.m., followed by Fellowship Dinner. DALLAS, TX GOD’S MIRACLES ARE STILL WITH US In October 1985 I moved from New Port Richey, Florida to Dallas, Texas. Searching for a family church, a year later I found John Calvin Presbyterian Church. I met with the pastor Dr. Dale Gorman who showed me the sanctuary school, and the small chapel. When we were in the chapel a voice inside of me said, “Katherine, Get to work! Gather your people together!” Somehow I knew then that my work for the Lord did not end when I became a widow. Working
