CARTERET, NJ The Christmas services were well attended, though last year there were more people on the Christmas Eve Candlelight service. The New Year’s Day combined service was a success, traditionally all are welcomed after the service to the Manse for refreshments, and everybody seemed to enjoy it. Many of our church members participated in the ecumenical service held on the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, held by the Carteret Ministerial Association in the Holy Family Church, where a combined choir of all the Carteret churches entertained us, and most of the local clergy participated in the service, concluded with all clergy raising their hands for the benediction. The Lorantffy Women’s Guild had their first Flea Market at the end of January. The Men’s Club will prepare a luncheon for our ladies on Valentines Day. The Lord’s Table will be set for Holy Communion for Lent on both services. The Annual Meeting is set to be held on the 23rd of February, after a combined service, which will be followed by the Installation Dinner in the afternoon. As you can imagine the preparation of the Annual Report is always an event in every church, thanks to the Church Council, our Pastor receives some help this year, by hiring a bookkeeper, who will help in organizing and selecting the envelopes, the Annual Report, the monthly Newsletter and other work around the church office.
