These two holidays have a great deal in common. When we think of Thanksgiving, we must think of the Giver of all good and faithful gifts God, who has given us in the fullness of time Christ, that we may have life and have it more abundantly. On the other hand, Christmas when this gift became a reality cannot be fully celebrated without the inner thanksgiving of the heart. In this spirit we make our final report of the year to the readers of our official publication on the life of the church in the last two months of the year. On November 2nd, in the symbols of the broken body and shed blood of our Lord, we gave thanks to God for his boundless blessings upon us as individuals and as a congregation. Our assistant was the Rev. Tünde Csákány student at Princeton Theological Seminary, from Hungary, who brought greetings from her own congregation to us. On November 7th, the 27th Annual Hungarian Protestant Ball was held in Wayne Manor, a very nice group attended this event from our church. Seven scholarships were given out to college students with Hungarian background who are members of the churches in our vicinity. On November 8th, we joined together with the members of our own Hungarian Reformed people for the Ordination and Installation of our new Bishop, Dr. Andrew Harsanyi and officers of the Synod in Carteret, New Jersey. We congratulate the new officers and ask God’s blessings upon them as they carry on the leadership role in our Synod.
