MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 13. oldal insisted on naming the newly formed Denomination after our congregation in McKeesport. The name of the Denomination was changed since to the Hungarian Reformed Church in America. But the name of our McKeesport congregation is still Free Magyar Reformed Church, although our church is the only Hungarian Reformed Church in McKeesport now. All are invited. World Communion will be celebrated in our church on October 6, 1985. Holy Communion also will be celebrated on the first Sunday in Advent, December 1, 1985. This will be our thanksgiving for the New Wine. On August 18, 1985, Communicants were received by Reaffirmation of Faith. Timothy and Barbara Rawa joined our Church. Funerals: Mary Shoaf, born on May 18, 1917 at McKeesport, PA. Died on May 3, 1985. Date of Funeral: May 6, 1985. Steve Pásztor, born August 19, 1904 at McKeesport, PA. Died on July 1, 1985. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.” 1 Corinthians 15:19, 20. Our Church Choir is having Choir Rehearsal weekly and singing all summer also. Our new organist-choir director is Mrs. Eloise Kearns. PERTH AMBOY, NJ Following the quiet summer months, September greeted us with a lot of church activity and opportunities for our spiritual growth. On September 8th we started our Christian Education Program, which this school-year will be held in a Sunday School setting. We are grateful to God in providing teachers for our great undertakings. On September 11th a special concert “Mickey and Becky” was held in our Church Center. We cannot stop praising His name in allowing us to share one evening with such wonderful Christians. The Concert was well attended, and a special thank to you is in order to Mr. Robert Üveges, who made the arrangements. At the time of this report we are preparing for a Special Congregational Meeting on September 29th, when the congregation is deciding on some expensive repairs of the Parsonage. October’s agenda in our congregation seems to indicate that we will have very little rest. Upon the recommendation of the Church Council we are starting on an “All Member Visitation Program,” expressing our care and concern for the members of the church. We hope and pray that this program will be crowned in glory by the Head of the Church. On October 5th our Annual Grape Festival is held under the sponsorship of the Women’s Guild, and on October 6th we will share in the elements of the Lord’s Supper with our brothers and sisters around the world as World Wide Holy Communion. We look forward to the opportunities our Lord brings our way, giving a wholehearted commitment to do His work. TRENTON, NJ At the National Youth Conference 10 young people and 1 adult represented our church. With the beginning of fall, the organizations of our church started their work for the glory of God and benefit of our church. The Lorantffy Zsuzsanna Ladies Aid held an “Old Fashioned Bazaar.” Our younger members came to see, how the bazaars were held in the older days and our older members came to remember the many-many wonderful memories of the past. The Women’s Guild is working diligently, every Tuesday, to finish the many hand made crafts for their traditional Christmas Bazaar. The Youth Group is preparing for two events. On Sunday, October 6th, the Eastern Area Youth Conference of the Hungarian Reformed Churches will be hosted by them. In November they will serve a dinner for the members of the congregation and their friends. The Youth Group meets every second Friday. The meetings are started with Bible Study. Our Sunday School also started. This year the Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. and after the Sunday School the children with their parents attend the English worship service.
