12. oldal MAGYAR EGYHÁZ Fellowship Circle has a SPAGHETTI DINNER planned for Friday, Sept. 16th from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. the proceeds from the dinner will be given toward the medical expenses of Szabolcs Székely the 5 year old who came to America from Transylvania for a rare brain operation. — An invitation is extended to all of our members to join one or more of the church organizations for the new season, The Women’s Guild, The Fellowship Circle, The Choir, Bible Study, etc. Vital Statistics: Baptism: Pamela lean Orosz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Orosz. — Jennifer Deffler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Mrs. Frank Szallar, — Mr. Wiliam Schurr. During the summer months the organizations of the church, with the acception of the Women’s Guild rested. The members of the Women’s Guild met once a week to finish the “Quilt” they prepare for the bazaar. From the donation of the Women’s Guild, we had the interior of our church painted, preparing for the 90th anniversary of the church, which will be celebrated next year. We thank the Women’s Guild for their donation. The Youth Conference was attended by four young people from our church. The Youth Group was organized only in January. All of them returned home with rich experiences. With the month of September our Sunday School started and all the organizations of the church started their meetings and planning for the months ahead. Erről a lap más helyén bővebb híreket közlünk. Szeptember 25-én, vasárnap du. a Lorrain, Ohio-ban tartott körzeti egyházi munkások konferenciáján is resztvettek egyházunk küldöttei. Október 9-én az ifjú Nőegylet kínai vásárt rendezett. Szép eredménnyel zárult fáradozásuk. Az őszi bazárt vagy sütemény vásárt a Nőegylet október 10 és 15 között tartja, melyre az érdeklődés már előre is nagy-Október 16-án, vasárnap délben a Nőegylet ebédet ad, mint minden hónapban a harmadik vasárnapon. Most a mi egyházunk nagytermében lesz az 1956 os szabadságharcra való emlékezés. Ez alkalommal más egyházak tagjait is szeretettel hívjuk és várjuk. Az ebéd délben, az ünnepély du. 3-kor kezdődik. Magyar Vásárt rendezünk, mint egy pár évvel ezelőtt, minden egyesületünk és egyházunk minden munkás tagja bevonásával. Erre a november 12 és 13-án tartandó vásárra készüljenek fel az érdeklődő magyarok. Statisztikai adatok: keresztelés és esketés az angol részben; temetések-halálozások: Putnoki Lajosné, szül. Lelkipásztor augusztus 21-én Unionban prédikált újkenyéri úrvacsoraosztáskor, hol 52-en éltek úrvacsorával, majd bankett volt a gyülekezet tagjai részére, ahol 73-an vettek részt. A banketten Kendi Béla a gyülekezet főgondnoka volt a toastmaster, ahol Nagy Lajos és Dr. Sóhajda Béla lelkipásztorok is beszéltek. A unioni összejövetel egy nagyobb magyar gyülekezetnek is díszére vált volna. Magyar szívünk éledt a sok jó magyar ember láttára. Kőváry Imre és neje, valamint Tóth István pénztárnokunk felesége szerencsésen hazaérkeztek Magyarországból. Dr. Harsányi András szeretett esperesünk tiszteletére rendezett banketten egyházunkat Balogh Bálint gondnok és a lelkészpár képviselték. Lelkipásztor az egyházmegye lelkészei nevében búcsúzott tőle. Nt. Dr. Vitéz Ferenc búcsú bankettjén pedig a lelkészpár képviselte a gyülekezetét. Nyári kedves vendégünk volt Nt. Kecskeméthy József és felesége, Nt. Bertalan Imre a Ref. Egyesület elnöke és felesége, továbbá Ferenczy Pálné nagytiszteletű asszony és keresztlánya Tengely Jutka Miskolcról. Kedves vendég lelkész igehirdetőnk volt augusztus 21-én P.
