MROMecyMl 13. oldal World Alliance Committee Meeting in Cuba After careful planning the members of the “Civil and Religious Liberty Committee” and the “Committee of Cooperation and Witness” of the World Alliance of the Reformed Churches, attended a conference, January 23 — 30 in Cuba. Some members of the two committees were not able to attend due to other commitments, but Dr. William Philippe, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Dr. Dennis Tarr, of Temple University, Philadelphia were able to complete the arrangements for the proposed dates. * * * We visited churches in Havana, Matanzaz, and held conferences with the pastors, leaders and members of the various congregations. The highlight of the meetings was our visit to the Ecumenical Theological Seminary, maintained by three Protestant denominations in Matanzas, where we met professors and students and visited the facilities where single and married students study and live. This conference was one of the first such visits since the 1959 revolution, and it was meaningful for both those who live in Cuba and the delegates who observed the conditions there. It is hoped that as a result of this friendly meeting, delegates from Cuba will be able to attend the General Council meeting, which is scheduled August 16 — 26 in Ottawa Canada, this summer. _ . _. , , D.
