MAGYAR eO/Ml 13. oldal 50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Nemes Carteret— Mr. and Mrs. John Nemes, 22 Matthew Ave., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 6 th at a party given by their family. They are the parents of Nancy Sadowski of Carteret and the late Elsie Ullersberger. They also have four grandchildren. They are members of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Carteret. Mrs. Nemes is a member and past grand officer of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Nemes is a former councilman of the borough of Carteret, a member of the Theodore Roosevelt Lodge F and AM and Crescent Temple Shrine of Trenton. He is the chief elder of the diocese of the Hungarian Reformed Church of America and is a regular commissioned lay preacher of the Hungarian Reformed Church. NEWS The Trenton, N.J. congregation elected the Rev. Kalman Adorján, to be their new pastor, since the Rev. Stephen Kovács retired in July. Rev. Adorján will assume his new responsibility in September. Now, The Youngstown, Ohio Church is in need of a new pastor; as our Church in Miami, Florida. Church Workers Conference in Cleveland The jointAnnual Church Workers’ Conference for Hungarian Reformed Churches belonging to the various denominations, will be held Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27, both days in the afternoon.The location for the conference is the First Magyar Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, Ohio. The conference schedule is as follows: SATURDAY: 1:30 p.m.Registration of the delegates downstairs. (Please use side door.) 2:00 p.m. Discussion on the role of women’s organizations in our churches—led by a panel. 3:00 p.m. Recess and refreshments. 3:30 p.m. Presentation on spiritual life and growth—led by elders and church members. 4:00 p.m. Workshop on spiritual life and growth. 5:00 p.m.Recess 5:30 p.m. Supper at the First Magyar Presbyterian Church Supper tickets $4.00. 6:30 p.m.Adjournment Lodging will be provided by the church members if needed.
