VAGYAK £Gyl7HZ September 23rd. Interment was in our cemetery. May God console the sorrowing family! On October 21st we buried from our church Mrs. Susanna Nyisztor, 94, who was a resident of the Lorantffy Care Center in Akron, Ohio during the past six years. The Rt. Rev. Tibor Dömötör, deputy bishop participated in the service. Be her memory blessed among us. McKeesport, pa. Our church is presently without the services of a permanent minister, Reverend Arpad Orosz having left for a new position in Niles, Ohio. In the interim, we have had several visiting ministers and the services of Reverend Robert Kennedy, a pastor now on leave to further his education in the field of the aging. We are grateful for his cooperation at this time. In August, the church took part in International Village. In past years this had been a project for the Women's Guild but it was decided that it would be a church project and that the entire congregation would cooperate. The three day event was a complete success, financially and socially. Chief elder, Edward Jordanhazy and his wife Norma are the proud grandparents of a new baby girl. Amy Michelle was born to son Michael and his wife Grace in September. On August 16, David Brian Sheedy married Martina Kaufman in the church sanctuary. On Sept. 13, Andrew Fedor, son of Mary Fedor was married to Angela M. Esposito. We also welcomed Angela as a new member of our congregation. On Sept. 28, Mary Fedor introduced the new couple and entertained the congregation in the Social Hall of the church. Sadly, we note the passing of members: on August 25, Elizabeth Balogh, on Sept. 15, Andrew Biro of Boynton Beach, Florida; on Sept. 17, Nicholas Faszil, on Sept. 27, Michael Toth, on Oct. 13, Bertalan Heyz. With the start of the fall school term, the regular Sunday School has started once again after summer vacation. PERTH AMBOY, N J. We have dedicated helpers and teachers to add to the success of both schools, and we greatly thank them. The Women’s Guild held their annual “Grape Festival Dance” on September 27, and was a most successful affair, everyone that attended had a good time. The Fall Rummage Sale was held on October 9-10, and this too proved to be a worthwhile project. Now they will be working on the plans for the up-coming Thanksgiving Banquet, which everyone looks forward to every year. The Fellowship Circle held a trip to Sesame Park for the children on October 5th in Langhorn, Pa. and everyone enjoyed the day. A Tupper-Ware Party was held on October 10th in the Church Center and was nicely attended. The group is now working and planning on the Christmas Bazaar. We are very pleased that one of our members, Mr. Louis Medgyesi has entered the New Brunswick Theological Seminary to under-take studies for the ministry. He has been a faithful worker within the church, and is helping with religious teaching of our children. We wish him God’s blessings in his studies. The Hungarian Embroidery Classes have also begun, and has a very good attendance. Mrs. Elizabeth Medgyesi is the instructor. We hope that all of our organizations will continue to grow in number, and continue in their bond of fellowship with every member of the congregation. TRENTON, N J. The American Hungarian Civic Association honored our pastor as the man of the year, on July 20th. Mrs. Margaret Beky, the widow of Bishop Beky, has invited our church members to a picnic in her Summer home, in Pointpleasant, N.J. on September 6th. She was very pleased in meeting many church members and old friends. During the Summer the exterior woodwork of our church, the school, the parsonage and the custodian’s house was painted. The steeple was covered with aluminium sheets and protective windows will be installed on the sanctuary. These renovation projects cost $12,000. Beside the generous donations of our church members the Women’s Guild gave $5,000 and the Lorantffy Zsuzsanna Society $3,000 to help to pay the renovation expenses. A group of church members and others took a two week trip to Hungary with Mrs. Stephen Kovács, the wife of our pastor. They returned on October 16th with many beautiful memories. Our annual Reformation Dinner was held on October 26th. The Bishop’s Council of the Hungarian Reformed Church of America had its meeting in our church on October 27th.
