only five months ago. May the Lord’s merciful love console the bereaved family! Our confirmation class took its exami­nation on May 18th: Kim Hawk, Shirley Hegedűs, John Shaw, James Toth. They received their first communion on Pente­cost Sunday. May 25th in the fellowship of their families. New member: James Hanratty, by adult baptism, thus confirmation, also, on May 13th. Pentecost Sunday, a communion Sunday was Memorial Sunday, also. Depending on the weather a memorial service was planned in our cemetery. In case of incle­ment w'eather, this service is postponed until circumstances permit it to be held. McKeesport, pa. The Women's Guild had a successful bingo and bake-sale on April 13th. On the same day Mr. John Kontz held the worship service. On May 4th, under the leadership of Mrs. Norma Jordanhazy 10 ladies attended the Annual Spring Conference of the Women at Hungarian Reformed Church in Duquesne. Pa. On May 6th the Women's Guild prepared a dinner for the bowling league of the masonic organization. We celebrated Mother's Day with a combined service. We also had a beautiful program. The choir sand under the direc­tion of Mrs. Caroline Halas, Mrs. Margaret Jardanhazy sang a solo, and the children of the Sunday School recited poems. After the worship service we had a successful dinner in honor of the mothers and the living founders of the congregation. 120 people attended the dinner. — Three persons were honored from the still living founding members of the congregation: Mrs. An­drew Biro, Mrs. Bertalan Juhasz and Mrs. Helen Molnár. PERTH AMBOY, NJ. In the previous months our church news was omitted from the Magyar Egyház, but our members were informed about them through our monthly newsletter. Therefore at this time we would like to recap our activities before our readers. Our congregational meeting was held in the last part of February. Officers within the church were unanimously reelected. Also our Annual Year Book was prepared and given to our members. In March our Women’s Guild comme­morated their Anniversary, on which oc­casion they participated in the Holy Com­munion using the old traditional way with chalice. During the Easter Holidays our church attendance was very good, it is only sad that once the holidays are over, those same people cannot find time to visit the house of God. On Palm Sunday our Christian Youth Fellowship made a movie presentation “The Day of Triumph" in color to all members. While our Fellowship Circle hosted an "Easter Egg Hunt" for the children of our church. According to our traditions Holy Com­munion was observed in the church on the First Sunday in May. In the afternoon MAGYAR eGyftnz 13. oldal many of our elders participated at the Meeting of the reorganized Eastern Area Presbyter’s Association hosted by the Staten Island Church. On Mother's Day mothers were honored with flowers by the Women’s Guild. On the thirds Sunday many of our ladies attended the Annual Women's Conference hosted this year by our sister church in Carteret. The Confirmation of our children was held on Ascention Thursday during a com­bined worship service. A Memorial Service is planned for May 25, Sunday afternoon in the church cemetery, at which time tombstone dedica­tion services will also be held. Vital Statistics: Deaths—with great sor­row we said our last farewell to the follow­ing members: Mrs. Susan Matto, Mrs. Barbara Amaczi, Mr. Walter Godlesky, and Mrs. László Csorba. May God bless their memory and may He rest them peace­fully until the great Day of the Resurrec­tion. ROEBLING, NJ. This May is a special month for our church. On May 11. Mother’s Day, we de­dicated new white church cloths and hang­ings to the mothers of our congregation. They were dedicated during the service, which also included a "Tribute to Moth­ers" by the members of our Sunday School. Our traditional Mother’s Day Dinner fol­lowed, and it was a delicious meal prepared by the men of our congregation. On May 25, Pentecost, three of our children will be confirmed: James Andrew Bajzath, Jr., Suzanne Renée Jacoby and Tamara Ann Varga. They have been studying about God and the church for the last two years, and are now ready to become adult members of the church. They will assist at the Prepara­tion Service. Saturday, May 24. On June 8, Children’s Sunday, the Youth Group will conduct Sunday worship. Suzanne Jacoby will preach the sermon, and she will be assisted by Karen Harkel, James Bajzath. Ralph Cordero, Melanie Soltész, Sandy Somogyi, Michelle Jacoby, Bert Bartha, and Christian Varga. The Women's Guild will host a reception for them after the service. A covered dish dinner has been planned for June 15, Father's Day, to honor the fathers of our church. We wish you all a happy and safe summer! Temetések: Április 28-án eltemettük Nagy Mihályt, aki 85 éves korában mező­­gazdasági baleset következtében vesztette életét. Május 15-én eltemettük Vasas Ká­rolyt, aki 92 évet élt ezen a földön. 5 évig volt a Lorántffy Otthon lakója. Május 22-én eltemettük Peyerle Ferencnét, aki egész életén keresztül egyházunk hűséges tagja és áldott lelkű munkása volt. 84 éves korában fejezte be életét a Lorántffy Ott­honban. Lelkészünk az Egyesült Államok elnöké­nek meghívására Főt. Ábrahám Dezső püs­pökkel együtt tanácskozásokon vett részt a Fehér Házban. Washington, D.C.-ben. Május 11-én lelkészünk hirdette az igét Phoenix-arizonai gyülekezetünkben, majd résztvett a közgyűlésen, amely fontos dön­téseket hozott az egyház jövendőjével kap­csolatban. Május 12-én meglátogatta az ontariói gyülekezetét, tanácskozott a pres­biterekkel és egyháztagokkal és megtekin­tette a kész templomot. Hollywoodban meglátogatta Dr. Trombitás Dezsőt, a helyi gyülekezet lelkészét. Adományok Lorántffy Otthonra: Káplán Charlotte $3.000. —, Phillips William $1,000. —. A költség húszezer dolláron felül lesz. a tagok önkéntes ado­mányát köszönettel veszi az egyház vezető­sége. A Nőegylet által rendezett tavaszi bazár, sütemény vásár, május 12—16 között, szép eredménnyel zárult, hála a hűségesen mun­kálkodó tisztikarnak és tagoknak. A maga nemében egyedülálló Szatmár megyei Egyesület május első vasárnapján tartott “szeretet ebédje” fényes sikerrel zárult. Összesen 165 személy vett rajta részt. Elnök Koroknay Sándor. Megható búcsút vettünk Gál Imrétől és nejétől Annuskától, akik Orlando, Florida környékén vettek új házat és odaköltöztek. Anyakönyvi adatok: a konfirmációs osz­tály itjainak a névsorát az angol hírekben tettük közzé: ugyancsak a keresztelés és es­­ketési adatokat is. Eltemettük: Bíró Balázst. 94 éves korá­ban hunyt el. Kókai Dezsőnét. szül. Hubai Piroskát, 78 éves korában hunyt el; Tamás Jánosnét sz. Péter Annát, 84 éves volt. Emlékük legyen áldott.
