12 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ DUQUESNE, PA. During the Easter Season 180 mem­bers received the Holy Elements in communion. On Easter Sunday the en­tire Sunday School attended church service to see communion administered. Baptism: Abby Rose Sabo, the daugh­ter of Stephan Sabo and his wife, the former Amy Anastas was christened in our church on March 16th. Godparents are Louis Thomas and Diane Tomov­­csik. New member: Patty Hassko was re­ceived into membership by reaffirma­tion of faith on March 23. The Rev. Árpád Orosz was our guest speaker at our Wednesday Lenten Ves­per Service on March 26th. Funeral: John Orosz, residing in Clearwater, Fla., an honorary member of our congregation was laid to rest on March 5th. May the Lord console the members of the bereaved family. Future plans: A special congrega­tional meeting was called for April 20th, to discuss the renovation of our church kitchen. Our Women's Club is holding a “Four Season” Party on April 20th. On May 4th, Sunday, our church is hosting the Women’s Annual Spring Conference of the Western Pennsyl­vania Hungarian Reformed Churches. Details on these plans will be pub­lished in the next issue. McKeesport, pa. On February 24th and March 16th the Christian Fellowship organized a Craft Class for all age groups of our congregation. The craft class is con­ducted by Mrs. Eva Suchant. On March 2nd the Christian Fellow­ship had a bake-sale. The Women’s Guild had a kolbasz­­sale on March 25th. The joy of our Easter-celebration was increased by the fact that so many members and friends of our congrega­tion attended our worship services. From Maundy Thursday through Easter 295 people were in church. 197 took Holy Communion in church, 4 at home. All together 201 people partook of the Lord’s Supper. — Mrs. Margaret Jar­­danhazy sang a solo at our Good Fri­day evening service. Our newly or­ganized choir sang at our 9:30 a.m. Easter service, under the direction of Mrs. Caroline Halas, increasing the devotional level of our celebration. We published our Newsletter, this time also in Hungarian. We had three funerals: Mr. Joseph Szabó was buried on February 27th, Mrs. Regina Toth on March 17th, and Mrs. Anna Vary on March 18th. The comforting love of God be with the bereaved families. TRENTON, N. J. Baptism: On December 16th Timothy James, the child of James Brennan and his wife nee Gabriella Pandak, on De­cember 30th Alyson Lynn, the child of Peter Thompson and his wife Dawn Dani and on January 13th Jason Da­niel, the child of James Mercer and his wife nee Margaret Szilagyi, re­ceived the sacrament of Holy Baptism. Marriages. On December 29th John Szilagyi and Pamela Piljar, on January 1st Henry Leingang and Jane Ellen Nagy, on February 9th David P. Shep­pard and Holly Michelle Johnson and on February 16th Alexander Nagy and John Savoca, were married in our church. Funerals. On December 14th Mrs. Joseph Asszony, on January 29th Mr. Stephen Földvary, on February 27th Mr. Stephen B. Nagy, on March 7th Mrs. John Melsky and on March 11th Mr. Emery Varga, were buried. The congregational meeting was held on January 27th. Total income of the church treasury in 1979 was $65,737.91, total expenses $74,831.18. The expenses include $20,000 bank certificates pur­chased in 1979. Total assets of the church treasury on December 31, 1979 was $83,960.40. There were 14 bap­tisms, 3 confirmations, 15 marriages and 30 funerals in 1979. The newly elected members of the church council were published in the last issue of this paper. A Seniors Club of our church was organized in February and the follow­ing officers were elected: Hon. presi­dent: Mrs. Stephen Kovács, president: Mrs. Helen Horvath, vice president: Mrs. Helen Ebert, secretary: Mrs. Irene Czarnecki and treasurer: Mrs. Elsie Corrado. The interior of the parsonage was re-painted and the study of the pastor was remodeled in February with the $2,215 generous donation of the Wo­men’s Guild. A memorial service was held in our church on March 2nd in memory of Mrs. Kenneth Ture who lost her life in an automobile accident in Germany. Her brother-in-law Mr. Ronald Ture also participated in the service. Our Sunday School children again sent their Advent Bank donations to a missionary couple in India. The Women’s Guild visited and pre­sented gifts to our elderly church mem­bers in Nursing Homes at Christmas. The Lorántffy Zsuzsánna Society gave $2,000 to the church as their Christmas donation. The Christmas tree was donated again by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mat­thias, Sr. The Young Married Couples Club had a successful spaghetti dinner on February 24th, in the school. The bronze plaque of Louis Kossuth in the Trenton City Hall was decorated with a wreath by the Trenton Chapter of the Hungarian Federation, on March 15th. Mr. Imre Bogár, elder, was honored as the “man of the year” at the annual elders’ dinner on March 16th. Con­gratulations. Mr. Rudolph Shlegle spoke to our congregation, March 9, about the Gi­deons Bible Society. Our people helped this praise-worthy organization with $150.00. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO The members of our congregation once again gave testimony of their love toward God and our Saviour, by at­tending the Easter worship services in great numbers. They testified their be­lief that Christ will return again to this earth by partaking in the Lord’s Sup­per. At the time of this writing we are in the process of buying the last empty lot around the church. After this lot will be bought we can proceed and estab­lish our own parking lot. Actually a whole corner will be ours. We give glory to God, that He helped us ac­quire these four empty lots. Baptism: In the home of his grand­parents, we baptized James Thomas, the son of James David Westhead and his wife, Victoria Lee Roberts, on Monday, March 24th.
