On Palm Sunday under the sponsorship of the Fellowship Circle we spent an enjoyable afternoon with our young children during which time an Easter Egg hunt and Gospel Magic Show was held. We all enjoyed to see our young people. Participation at the Easter Services was satisfactory even though we had less members attending our services. In Holy Communion 284 took part at the English worship and 73 at the Hungarian. We would like to thank those donating flowers for decorating the house of God at Easter. On May 6th according to our traditions we observed the Sacrament of Lord’s Supper with our assistant Ted Vanderhom assisting. In the afternoon about 15-20 of our ladies participated at the Annual Women’s Conference in Staten Island. On May 13, Mother's Day during the worship service (combined at 9:00 a. m.) we witnessed the Mother’s Day program of our Sunday School. Following the service the Fellowship Circle invited our members for a mother’s day breakfast, held in our social building. At this time we gave our honor and appreciation to Mrs. Elizabeth Sabo, who has been chosen as the Mother of the Year, for her dedication to church and family. We also congratulate and express our best wishes to her. On May 27th our Sunday School and the Sunday School of our sister church in Roebling will get together and share their experiences. We hope that this occasion will help to create friendship between our young people. On June 2nd or 9th weather permitting, our Fellowship Circle together with our Christian Youth is sponsoring a hike. We hope that this plan will generate interest among our people and many will join us. For the information of our members with children: Our Vacation Bible School will start on July 2. Please register your children as soon as possible. HUNGARIAN COOK BOOK Order from: THE WOMEN’S GUILD 331 Kirkland Place Perth Amboy, N. J. 08861 ROEBLING, N. J. Minister: Rev. Parishioners and the pastor benefited from the study, as our appreciation of the meaning of Easter was enhanced. During Holy Week, we commemorated the Last Supper with a Communion Service on Maundy Thursday. On Good Friday, we held an evening service, as well as participating in the Florence Township Ministerium^ afternoon service based on the Seven Last Words from the cross. On Easter, there was an early morning service, followed by a congregational breakfast prepared by the Women's Guild. We are looking forward to a busy month of May. On May 6, the Ministerium is sponsoring a walk for CROP, the Community Hunger Appeal of Church World Service. Most of the young people of our church will participate, and are being sponsored by members of our congregation and others in the area. We hope to raise a significant contribution for the hungry people all over the world. Our Women’s Guild will be attending the United Church Women’s Conference in Staten Island on May 6. Two of our members, Mrs. Helen Bordash and Mrs. Georgiana Harkel, will be among the speakers at the conference. May 13 will be our annual Mother’s Day Dinner, prepared for the congregation by the Church Council. We will confirm two new members of our churcli during the Pentecost service, Karen Harkel and Michele Jacoby. During the last two years, these girls have prepared for their confirmation^ through study and service to the church. We look forward to their assuming the responsibility and the joy of full membership in the church. Children's Day will be on June 10. On that day, the youth and the children in the church will help to conduct the service. Recently, the family of Mr. and Mrs. Bertalan Bartha contributed Bibles to be placed in each of the pews in the sanctuary in their memory.
