MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 13 We hope that they will be granted many more years of happiness and active church life. The Sunday School held a hoagie sale. Net proceedings were used to buy communion ware protectors for the church, and were presented as a Christ­mas gift. The Women’s Club hosted a “Lunch­eon Is Served” on September 26th, and an Election Day dinner. Both were suc­cessful financially and otherwise. Christmas Season: Parties were held by the local Branch 202 of the Hun­garian Reformed Federation of Ame­rica, the Women’s Club and the Sun­day School. All three parties were suc­cessful and served to the strengthening of fellowship ties. Christmas Schedule: Thursday before Christmas (Dec. 20) Advent com­munion at 7 p.m.; Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. Christmas Day communion services: 9:30 a.m. Hungarian, 11 a.m. English. Watchnight 7 p.m. English. The Rev. Bela Olah, visiting from Hungary will be our guest speaker on Christmas Day. Congregational Meeting was held on October 28th. The following officers were elected for 1980: Frank Demes, chief elder; John Estu, assistant elder — Hungarian; Donald Koester, assis­tant elder — English; Eileen Halpern, secretary; Eileen Jenulevich, treasurer. Eileen Halpern, Donald Koester and Susan Wargo were reelected to fill va­cancies on church council. McKeesport, pa. On September 9th we started our Sunday school for the school year 1979- 1980. We donated 30 Hungarian Hym­nals to our sister church in Phoenix, Arizona, and gave our old organ to the Hungarian Reformed Evangelical Christian Church in Toronto, Canada. On October 7th at World Communion Sunday we had worship services with Holy Communion. On October 13th the Women’s Guild organized an apple pie and stuffed cabbage sale. The Chris­tian Fellowship sponsored a successful Halloween Party on October 28th for the children of our congregation and their friends. November was rich in events. On the 4th we had Holy Communion on the occasion of New Wine. On the 11th the Biró family celebrated the 93rd birth­day of Mrs. Andrew Biró in the fellow­ship of the congregation. The Women’s Guild had a successful salad-bar and card party on the 14th. On the 17th the Christian Fellowship' organized a kolbász sale. We had our congregational meeting for the election of officers and elders on Sunday, November 18th. New elder: Joseph Fazekas, Mrs. Grace Kontz, Mrs. Karen Marinello, Mrs. Frances Papp. On December 5th the Christian Fel­lowship held elections. President: Ron­ald Suchant, vice-president: James Lewis, Jr., treasurer: Mrs. Eva Suchant, secretary: Mrs. Frances Papp, sunshine lady: Mrs. Elizabeth Orosz. Statistics. Baptism: Alissá Joy Ritzo, daughter of John and Debbie Ritzo was baptized on August 12; Darci Lynn Lewis, daughter of James and Linda Lewis, on October 14th. Marriage: Frederick Clark and Lynn Carol Ukasik were married in our church on September 22nd. Funerals. We buried Mrs. Irene Orris on September 13th, Louis Vass on Oc­tober 22nd, Julius Simon Sr., on N< vember 21st, Mrs. Ida Slack on Decem­ber 7th. May God give consolation to the bereaved families. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. The past few months was a peaceful time in the life of our congregation. Our church services were held regu­larly, with Holy Communion on each first Sunday of the month. On the first Sunday of December our Annual Christmas Bazaar was held with good attendance. Financially the bazaar was a great success. On December 16th a congregational Christmas party was held when our children received their gifts. The party was sponsored by the Fellowship Circle, and gifts were do­nated by the Church. J. 08554 Telephone: 609—499-0717 Michael Charles Tambasco, first child of Felix and Beverly Tambasco, was baptized on August 19, 1979. His godparents were Anne Smith and Jo­seph Pellegrino. Five young people are preparing for confirmation. For the next few months they will be studying church history. Our Youth Group has nine members this year. They meet on Wednesday nights following Confirmation Class for fun and fellowship. The congregation has begun our monthly kolbász sales. The response from the community has been very gratifying. We make about 500 pounds each month during the winter months. Mrs. Sara Csik, long an active mem­ber of our congregation, died on Sep­tember 18. Rev. Stephan Kovács and Bishop Dezső Abraham, Mrs. Csik’s son-in-law, assisted Rev. Johnson at her funeral, held September 21. Her loss will be deeply felt by her family and her many friends. On October 11, Rev. Debra Johnson gave birth to a son, Marcus Patrick. He was baptized on Nov. 4, with his father, David Johnson preaching the sermon and his mother officiating at the baptism. His godparents are Gale McGuirk, Katherine Skrebutenas, Rich­ard Johnson, and Daniel Johnson. His grandparents are Mrs. Robert McGuirk of Acton, Mass., and Dr. and Mrs. William Johnson of Pullman, Wash. Following the service the Women’s Guild gave a luncheon to celebrate the occasion. The guest of honor slept through it all! On October 20, Ted D’Annunzio and Nancy Bartha were united in marriage. Rev. Stefan Török assisted Rev. John­son at the wedding. Alan Kaplan and Georgiana Harkel were the musicians. Nancy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bartha. Mr. Bartha has been the church treasurer at Roebling for many years. Ted is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terige D’Annunzio. The couple will reside in Florence, New Jersey. On December 23, a year after his premature birth, Jeffrey Van Arsdale, son of Darryl and Emily Van Arsdale,
