12 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ STATEN ISLAND, N. Y. Again in 1977, the 61st year in the life of the congregation, some 60 mem­bers look upon another year of signifi­cant accomplishments. The restoration programs of church properties ad­vanced. These included repairs and renovations in the church hall kitchen; a new roof on the church and the church hall; the renovation of the ex­terior of the parsonage with new vinyl siding and replacement of numerous windows. A total of $8,000 had been authorized for such restorations. New folding banquet tables were or­dered in 1977 and new chairs for these tables will be added. In 1978 the restoration program be­gun in 1974 will continue and include the renovation of the kitchen and lava­tories in the church hall. Those serving as officers and mem­bers of the board of elders in 1978 are: Charles Kosa, president; Gerald Nagy, vice president; John F. Kosa, secretary; Mrs. Olga Szabó, treasurer; Steve Am­brus, Joseph Balia, Albert Kish, Alex­ander Kosa, John Kosa, Rolf Kram­­bach, Jeffrey Nemeth and John Rod­­vansky. Newly elected elders are Mrs. Helen Cutler and George Munch. The officers of the Women’s Guild are: Mrs. Rose Kosa, president; Mrs. Elizabeth Lovas, vice president; Mrs. Helen Cutler, secretary; Mrs. Helen Kosa, financial secretary; Mrs. Carolyn Johnson, treasurer and chaplain; Mrs. Esther J. Kosa and Mrs. Jennie Tor­zsas, committee on the sick. In 1977 the pastor of the congrega­tion conducted four service of Chris­tian burial: Bertha Becker died on February 21; Margaret Fazekas Szőke died on September 21; Bertha Hoag­­land died on October 31; and Joseph Biro died on December 15. Rev. Stephen Kovács of Trenton, N. J. also partici­pated in the services for Mrs. Szőke. In 1978 Charles Fabian died on April 4 and the pastor and Rev. Imre Berta­lan of New Brunswick, N. J. conducted the services. Following the morning worship ser­vice on Pentecost, a covered dish dinner was arranged to honor the mothers of the congregation on Mother’s Day. A Father’s Day dinner is planned for June 18. The annual bazaar of the Women’s Guild will be held on two Saturdays, September 30 and October 7. Through the stewardship of sharing God’s gifts and our means, the congre­gation’s outreach has provided gifts to rebuild Hungarian Reformed churches destroyed or damaged by earthquake in Transylvania. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO Our congregation, with the other Hungarian Churches of the city, every month serves dinner for the Senior Citizens of our churches, and after the dinner some kind of program is pro­vided. The last such dinner was served by our congregation. 95 Senior Citizens attended this dinner. According to the present plans, in August we will go with them to Niagara Falls. On Pentecost, during the regular church service we served Communion. A satisfactory number of church mem­bers took Communion. After the service we held our traditional Mother’s Day Dinner in the auditorium. The dinner was successful morally and financially. On May 7th, 16 persons represented our congregation at the installation ser­vice and banquet of the Rev. Zoltán Szucs in Niles, Ohio. On April 24th, we buried from the church our sister Mrs. Ladislaus Ray­­ner, whom the Lord called home after 82 years on this earth. The comforting power of God be with the sorrowing family. Isten áldását kérjük uj egy­háztagjainkra. Rádiós órát tartunk minden csütör­tök délután 6 és 7 óra között az NBN rádión Clevelandban. Egyházi program­­műnk nagy népszerűségnek örvend az észak ohioi magyarság körében. Lelkészünk áprilisban résztvett az Amerikai Magyar Református Egyesü­let igazgatósági gyűlésén Washington­ban, igét hirdetett szószék csere kere­tében a clevelandi Magyar Presbiteriá­­nus Egyház templomában, részt vett Dr. Banda Árpáddal együtt az Ameri­kai Magyar Szövetség new brunswicki igazgatósági ülésén és ünnepi szónoka volt a pittsburghi Egyesült Egyletek által rendezett március 15-i ünnepély­nek. Nagyobb adományok az épülő RA­VASZ LÁSZLÓ szárnyra: KOVÁCS JÁNOS és NEJE 21,863.41 (végrende­let) DR. DAKO SÁNDOR 1,000, BACHAN JÓZSEF 1,000, KISS Jó- ZSEFNÉ 1,000, VARGA JULIA 1,000, MATICK PAULINE 500, MANDE­­VILLE GAIL 400 dollár. Szeretettel kérjük egyházainkat és egyháztagjain­kat további adományokra, hogy a még szükséges 40,000 dollárt szeptember 1-ig előteremthessük.
