10 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ have been two Inter-Guild bible hours in Trenton, initiated by Mrs. Margaret Connor, president of United Church Women. It seemed, however, more practicable that each church have its own study group. The traditional annual congregational dinner, on October 30, was a very well attended affair. The excellent co-operation of all assured the evening’s success. There were no speeches except greetings including the Mayor of Carteret, Dr. John Fenick and the Rt. Rev. Louis Nagy from Ligonier. According to old custom candidates running for borough offices were introduced. A gift of $1,000 by the Lorántffy Society was presented by Mrs. Frank Csizmadia, Sr.; it was greatly appreciated. By the grace of God the month of October has come upon us again reminding us of so many beautiful historical happenings. On the first Sunday of the month we participated with our Christian friends all over the World in the World Wide Communion of our Lord Jesus Christ. The feeling that settled in our hearts was one of satisfaction to know that the command of our Lord in same loaf of bread was fulfilled. We are of the same body and partakers of the same salvation. On this Sunday the walls of that Upper Room melted away and we all had our places around the Lord’s Table, saw with our spiritual eyes our Lord at the head of the table. Our assistant pastor for this occasion was the Rev. Nicholas Nyári, retired pastor of the Staten Island Church. We thank him for his help during the services. On October 9, we celebrated at our Annual Grape Festival. We cannot give any reports on the success of the affair until our next edition of the Magyar Egyház. However, we hope that the music provided by the Chubak-Kara- Nemeth Radio Orchestra, just as well prepared Hungarian food specialities will help us to achieve the desired success. On October 10, Sunday afternoon, our church was the host of the Eastern Area Classis Meeting of our Denomination. The meeting was held in a peaceful atmosphere as it befits us as Christians. We felt that it would be wonderful if we could meet and talk about our churches, its life, its difficulties at other times as well. Projected happenings in our church: Europe in words and in pictures—our pastor and his wife will introduce Europe as they saw it through their eyes in their recent trip to Europe. The date and time will be announced in our church. Rummage Sale: sponsored by the Women’s Guild on October 21 and 22.
