10 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ from this life to another with our God; 14 of our dear and good members have stepped over the bridge and found rest in the presence of Almighty God. May our Lord, who stands above life and death be our comfort and may He bless the memory of our loved ones. It is with hope and courage that we look into the future, believing and relying on the upholding hands of God, trusting that He will be with us and bless this New Year of 1976 for all of us. ROEBLING, N. J. The holiday season was a busy one here in Roebling as elsewhere. On Saturday, November 29 there was a wonderful wedding service for Judy Takacs and Joel Desetti. On the following Sunday there was another joyful wedding, this one uniting Robert Lee and Linda Garofalo. A third important event of this nature was the baptism of Jamie Brian Foreman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Foreman on Sunday, December 21. Jamie was born on June 11 of this year in San Bernadino, California. Standing as godparents were Mr. and Mrs. Joel Desetti and Joyce Takacs. On Sunday, December 14 Rev. Patch was formally ordained at Christ Congregation in Princeton, New Jersey with many of the Roebling congregation present. During the ordination service the Rev. and Mrs. Patch’s daughter, Sienne Mee-Lon, was also baptized. On Tuesday, December 16, the Lorántffy Zsuzsanna Guild held their drawing for the raffle which they had sponsored. The grand prize was a beautiful hand made afghan made by Mrs. Louis Egyud. The lucky winner was Mrs. Jean Bubula also of Roebling. The holiday season was ushered in by the Women’s Guild who met for a Christmas Dinner at a restaurant in Burlington for an evening of camaraderie and good cheer also on the evening of Dec. 16. Rev. and Mrs. Patch were their guests for the lovely occasion. On Sunday, December 21 the Sunday School gave their Christmas program, the theme of which was “Because Christmas Is...” The kindergarten class, led by Miss Michele, spoke of Christmas as a time to listen. The Primary Class led by Mrs. Elizabeth Soltész, spoke of Christmas as a time to remember. The Junior Class led by Mrs. Helen Bordash, spoke of Christmas as a time to share and thank. It was a fine program under the direction of the Church School Superintendent, Mrs. Bordash and assisted ably by the organist Mrs. Georgiana Harkel. After the program children and parents joined for a party with refreshments and gifts distributed in the church hall. On Christmas Eve we had a wonderful turnout of 101 for our preparatory service. On Christmas Day we had an equally fine turnout of 95 for our joyous celebration of Our Savior’s Birth. Most received the Sacrament of Holy Communion in a service of meaning and warmth. The following week was a time for reflection and anticipation as we held our New Year’s Eve and New l ear’s Day Services. We are thankful for the year gone by and we pray for God’s continued guidance and providence in the New Year. Best wishes to all for a healthy and fulfilling 1976! TRENTON, N. J. The Christmas worship services were well attended. Especially at the Christmas eve English service the sanctuary was entirely full. Altogether 300 persons received the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. The Christmas tree was donated again by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Matthias, Sr. The Women’s Guild decorated the church with poinsettias. The Sunday School children presented a very meaningful program at Christmas eve in the church entitled “And The Angel Appeared Around The World...” This program was arranged and directed by Mrs. Joyce Sparra with the cooperation of the Sunday School staff. Also, a check for $100.00 from the Advent Banks of the children will be sent to Joseph A. Mathew to continue his missionary work in Kerala, India. The Christmas eve program was followed by a party in the school. The Young Married Couples Club bought gifts for the patients at the Trenton State Hospital to contribute to their Christmas joy. Donations of our organizations to the church at Christmas: the Lorantffy Zsuzsanna Society $500.00, the Men’s Club $100.00. Our choir sang beautiful selections at all holiday services, under the direction of Mrs. Grace Baytel. Wedding. John W. Kish and Kathleen J. Gerber were married on November 28th. Funerals. December 16: Mrs. Joseph Zemla; December 19: Stephen Farkas; January 5: Stephen Király and January 7: Mrs. Sándor Szabó. The annual congregational meeting will be held on January 25th in the church.
