12 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ Our Youth Fellowship sponsored a ski-trip to Great Gorge, N. Y.; 25 young people from the Carteret and Perth Amboy Fellowships participated. The mid-winter dinner on February 2 honoring the officers from the congregation and from all church organizations was a pleasant family affair. Approved by the annual congregational meeting new windows were installed in all rooms of the second floor of the manse at a cost of $2,000. DUQUESNE, PA. Funerals: Mrs. Julia Urban, a lifelong member of our congregation, on March 10th. Interment followed in our cemetery. Mrs. Barbara Cheke, president of our Women’s Club, on March 13th. Interment followed in our cemetery. Mrs. Helen Tamok, on March 15th, interment in our cemetery. The Very Rev. Tibor Dömötör, dean of the Western Classis visited the two sister congregations, Duquesne and McKeesport on March 2nd, Sunday afternoon. Church council members from both congregations met with the Dean in the McKeesport church. The Duquesne clergy will hold its Good Friday services in our sanctuary this year. The service is held between 12 noon and 3 p.m. with seven clergymen participating. We started a Bible study group, which temporarily meets after our Lenten Vespers, Wednesday evenings, under the leadership of Mrs. Ann Shigo, vicepresident of the Women’s Club. Services in the Easter Season: Maundy Thursday 7:30 p.m. Worship Service with Holy Communion. Good Friday 7:30 p.m. Worship Service. Easter Sunday 9:30 a.m. Hungarian Worship Service with Holy Communion, 11:00 a.m. English Worship Service with Holy Communion. Easter Monday 11:00 a.m. Hungarian Worship Service. McKeesport, pa. Worship services during the holidays: March 28: English at 7:00 P.M.-Lord’s Supper. March 28: Good Friday: Hungarian at 11:00 A.M., English at 7:00 P.M. March 30: Easter: English services with Lord’s Supper at 6:30 and 9:30 o’clock; Hungarian with Lord’s Supper at 11 o’clock. The Very Rev. Tibor Dömötör made his official church-visitation as dean of the Western Classes on March 2. The installation of the officers of the Women’s Guild was held on March 16. Advisors: Steven D. Balogh. Cindy Serfozo, Asst., and László Hazafi, Sport. Our Congregational Dinner was held on March 9 at 12:00 noon after a combined worship service. The new officers were introduced by the minister. Joseph Szarka, the new chief-elder addressed the members and guests present at the dinner. Addition to the new officers: Recording Secretary is Edward Jordanhazy; Asst. Recording Secretaries are Steve Balogh and Sándor Nagy. Baptism: John Alexander, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Ritzo on March 9. Godparents: Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester S. Mickanian. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. At our congregational meeting the following new officers were elected. Our new Chief-Elder is John Marincsak. First Vice-President is Steve Katko and Second Vice-President is Andrew Lovász. John Kovács, Treasurer and William Orosz, Secretary accepted their term of office for another year. New Council members elected at the meeting were Joseph Banyacsky and David Orosz. During our congregational meeting, we decided to repaint our Center and repair our road in our Calvary Cemetery. The last Sunday in February, we attended the Installation of Bishop Dezső Ábrahám, our former pastor, in Allen Park, Michigan. At the same time, while thinking back to our former pastor, plans are underway for the Installation of our new pastor, Rev. Stefan M. Torok. His Installation is planned for April 6, 1975. From our calendar, we would like to announce that the Annual Chinese Auction of the Women’s Guild will be held on April 18, 1975 starting at 7:00 P.M. Holy Communion will be offered to our shut-in and sick members at their request before the holydays. May God grant you all a very happy and blessed Easter. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO From the Annual Report: receipts in 1974, including the $6,905.16 balance from 1973, was $35,528.68, expenses $27,630.28, leaving a balance of $7,- 898.40. The church owes to the American Hungarian Federation $4,666.58. In 1974 we baptized 1 child, confirmed 7, united in marriage 1 couple and buried 6. Last year we continued to serve our Hungarian Reformed people, through the Hungarian Radio service in cooperation with other Hungarian churches in the Mahoning Valley. The Hungarian service can be heard every Sunday morning at 9 on WFYM-FM radio, 102.9 on your dial. Officers elected for 1975 are the following: Charles Lakatos chief elder, John Van tell elder, Joseph Switka secretary, Albert Batta treasurer. Members of the Church Council: Nick Bayus, Adolph Bundza, George Chepke, Thomas Roy Combs, Louis Dem jen Sr., Louis Demjen Jr., Kalmen Haggerty, Frank Lesnansky, Steve Mislevy, Steve Sabo Sr. and Joseph Toth. In October of 1974 we started a weekly Bible study on the Book of Acts. Every time we meet on an average 17 persons attend and together we try to understand the Word of God better. The newly elected officers of the Yolanda Circle are: Mrs. Gabriel Toth, president, Mrs. John Halasé Jr., vicepresident, Mrs. Nick Bayus treasurer and Mrs. John Dubos secretary. On February 23rd, we observed Youth Sunday in our church. On that date all parts of the English service were taken over by the members of the Youth Group. Easter Sunday: English service at 9:30 A.M., Hungarian service at 11 A.M. During both services Communion will be served. On January 18th we buried our brother Julius Fabian Sr. The comforting of God be with the sorrowing family.
