24 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ CARTERET, N. J. The schedule of Christmastide wor­ship services were sent to all church families in a Christmas Letter. Main dates: Christmas Eve— Hungarian at 6:30, English (Candlelight Service) at 8; Christmas Day communion services —English at 9, Hungarian at 10:45; December 26—Hungarian at 11. The Junior Women’s Guild, in lieu of a Christmas Party, took a trip to Radio City in New York City to view its Christmas Program; they had lunch together after the show. Three major projects were concluded lately: a new P.A. System in Bethlen Hall, new metal doors at the church, and overhauling and improving the church’s heating system. The three pro­jects cost over $3,000. Burial: Mrs. Stephen Ur, Sr. (the former Esther Révész) on November 19. Mrs. Ur was born in Tuzsér, Szabolcs county. She was one of our two non­agenarian members, a widow for 50 years, and a church member for over 60 years. She was alert and active until her last day. DUQUESNE, PA. Members of the Women’s Club served dinner on Election Day, in November, all day. The Dinner brought extremely good financial results, and it created very good publicity for our congrega­tion. Thanksgiving Communion was held on November 23. 120 members received the Holy Elements in church and in their homes. The church council at its last meet­ing appointed Cathy Kennedy to be our assistant organist. Cathy has been as­sisting our organist, Karen Sabo ac­tively for over a year. On December 14 we arranged a pul­pit exchange with our sister church in McKeesport. More of the same are planned in the future. Our church council invited the Rev. László Jinda to be our guest minister during the Christmas holidays, to assist the pastor in the worship services. Rev. Jinda and our pastor grew up together in Budapest, and met recently for the first time in 31 years. Christmas parties for the Sunday School were held on December 14, and for the Women’s Club on December 17. Santa Claus was visiting! McKeesport, pa. The Sunday School and Confirmation Classes participated with a Candle Light ceremony in the services on Ad­vent Sundays and on the Christmas Eve Candle Light Service. Mrs. Louis Jar­­danhazy was our soloist on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day. Worship Services during the holi­days: December 18: English Service at 7:00 P.M. with the Lord’s Supper ser­ved. December 24: Combined Christmas Eve Candle Light Service at 7:00 P.M. with the participation of Sunday School and Confirmation Classes. Soloist: Mrs. Louis Jardanhazy. December 25: Eng­lish Service at 9:30 A.M., Hungarian at 11:00 A.M., Lord’s Supper served on both services. Soloist: Mrs. Louis Jar­danhazy. December 26: Hungarian Ser­vice at 11:00 A.M. December 31: Com­bined Service at 7:00 P.M. January 1: Combined Service at 11:00 A.M. Carol­ing on December 21. The Annual Congregational Meeting will be on January 11, combined ser­vice at 10:00 A.M. On December 14 we had a pulpit­­exchange with the Duquesne Church. Rev. Louis Illés was our guest-minister. On December 2 the Women’s Guild held its Annual Christmas Dinner Meet­ing at the Red Bull Inn. The new offi­cers were elected: President: Theresa Bakos, Vice-President: Ida Gibson, Secretary: Ethel Gorun, Treasurer: Margaret Panko, Sunshine Lady: Gol­die Szarka. Rev. and Mrs. K. A. Gon­­docz were the guests of honor at the dinner. On November 19 the net profit for the Salad Bar and Card Party spon­sored by the Women’s Guild was $1,- 135.53. The chairlady of the Card Party was Mrs. Sophie Shusner. The Women’s Guild sponsored a Hurka Sale on Dec. 11, and Sausage Sale on Dec. 15. Funerals: Frank Hallas, 55, Dec. 9; Mrs. Joseph Elyes, 77, Dec. 13. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. By the grace of God we have arrived to the last month of this year, and I am grateful for His mercy and love to us as His Church. It is our hope that He will be with us as we prepare ourselves to the great celebration of Christmas. May the Almighty be with you, our thoughts reach out to you wishing for the richest blessings of our Lord and Savior. May His Spirit enrich for you all the days of this New Year. Schedule of our Divine Worship Ser­vices at this Christmas Season: De­cember 15-22: Holy Communion will be taken to our sick and shut-in brethren to their homes or hospital upon request. Please call the pastor’s office at 442- 7799 phone number. December 22-23 our Christian Youth Fellowship members will visit our mem­bers with their Christmas Carols. Let us welcome them in our homes. December 21: Our Choir will present its Christmas Cantata during our regu­lar English worship service starting at 9:00 A.M. December 24: Christmas Eve. There will be a Combined Divine Worship Service starting at 7:00 P.M. Program is printed up for this service. December 25: Christmas Day. Our English worship service will start at 9:00 A.M. During the service we will observe the Communion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Hungarian worship service will start at 11:00 A.M. also with Holy Communion. December 26: Second Day of Christ­mas, there will be a Hungarian wor­ship service starting at 10:00 A.M. with Holy Communion. December 3l: On the day of New Year’s Eve we will have a combined worship service starting at 7:30 P.M. Following our worship service a New Year’s Eve dinner dance is being held at our Center. Tickets for this occasion is now available from Mr. Andrew C. Lovász, Mr. John Kovács Jr. and from the Pastor. January 1: New Year’s Day our Hun­garian church service will start at 9:00 A.M. and the English service will start at 10:00 A.M. Statistics. Baptism: On the day of November 30, we accepted into the fellowship of believers through Holy Baptism, the daughter Karen Marget, of Mr. Andrew C. Lovász and his wife Pamela. Congratulations. Funerals: Mr. Joseph G. Pocsik at the age of 68 on November 28. Mr. George F. Perfetti at the age of 74 on December 1, and Dr. William Tóth at the age of 59 on December 1.
