The Month of Flowers, May reminds us of the time for rebirth; not only for the flowers but also for church functions and life as well. In May we have resumed those activities that had to be postponed for the better weather. On the first Saturday, we started to clean up our picnic ground to make it ready for the summer activities. At the clean up work however not many of our members showed up, but those present did a beautiful job. Our ladies also participated at the United Church Women’s Conference held by our sister church in Staten Island. We all enjoyed the conference and the fellowship. On the second Simday our men of the church showed their appreciation toward the mothers and the women of our congregation by preparing our Annual Mother’s Day Dinner in their honor. Our Sunday School children greeted their mothers during a short program held in the church following our English church service. Also at this occasion we honored the women by presenting them with red and white carnations. We have started our preparations toward the “Flea Market” to be held on our picnic ground on June 8. This will be our first attempt to organize an event such as this. We welcome all our members and friends. The time of Confirmation is drawing close when five of our young children will give witness of their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ during their Confirmation on June 2, Pentecost Day. The name of those to be confirmed are as follows: Miss Connie Cordero, Miss Susan Havas, Mr. Andrew Csanyi Jr., Mr. Todd Soltész and Mr. Steven Takach Jr. New officers in our Lorántffy Nőegylet are the following: Mrs. John M. Peter, president; Mrs. Dezső Bojtos, vice president; Mrs. Bert Somogyi Sr., secretary; Mrs. Steven Bajzath, treasurer. STATEN ISLAND, N. Y. The congregation extended a call to the Rev. László Soós of Budapest, Hungary in December 1973. Every member is awaiting his arrival as soon as his passport-papers, permit, etc., will be granted. Professor August Molnár is our supply minister. We express our thanks and appreciation to him. The members of our Women’s Guild worked faithfully at the annual Women’s Conference on May 5th. Thanks and appreciation to all vrho cooperated. More details about the conference may be found elsewhere in this issue. If anyone has need for special services of a pastor, please contact the Rev. Gábor Csordás, Dean or Mr. John Radvánsky, Chief Elder. TRENTON, N. J. Our Easter celebration was richly blessed by God. Altogether, at three services, 430 persons partook in the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. Our guest minister was Rev. Donald Lewis from Princeton.
