MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 7 MAGYAR CHRIST IS RISEN!! HALLELUJAH! CHURCH DID YOU TRY THIS? Almost 2,000 years ago, there lived in an obscure corner of the world, a person who for the superficial observer was no extraordinary man. He taught the people for three years, healed the sick and performed miracles. In the beginning, he enjoyed the favor of the multitudes, but because he was not the kind of leader or king they waited for, he soon was silenced by his own people and sentenced by the Roman governor. He was crucified and died on the cross like other criminals of that age and if he would have been just an ordinary man, his life and mission would have ended right then and there. But___ He was the Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ and He rose from the dead and His work was carried on by His followers, yea, by the thousands and millions who became His disciples everywhere—that is why we hear the good news now in our time from every direction of the wind: CHRIST IS RISEN INDEED, AND HE LIVES FOR EVER!! This glorious news should fill the hearts in this Easter season everywhere—that our Lord is a living Savior. If this cause of Christ would have been just another among the many religions of the world, it soon would have disappeared from the face of the earth. But, God Almighty gave new hope into the hearts of the disciples, who before were deathly afraid and lost all their courage, yet now the same small group turned the whole world “upside down’’ testifying that Christ arose from the dead and He lives for ever! This is the good news, that fills the churches around the world—this is what our ancestors accepted and this is the great faith that we must pass on to our succeeding generations. Dear Brethren! Come and attend divine worship services, participate in the Holy Communion and help us to sing praises to our Lord: CHRIST AROSE! HE LIVES FOR EVER! CHRIST AROSE! HALLELUJAH! Deszo Abraham, Bishop This short article is written for those who are struggling with great problems, who are confused, who know what heartache, sorrow, failures and sufferings are, and who are willing to listen. I think most of us belong to this group, therefore, this article might mean something for us. I strongly believe that God loves us and wants us to have a normal, healthy, balanced and full life. But this kind of life is possible for us only if we are willing to learn and follow His guidance. On the basis of the Bible I see the solution of all our human problems in our daily private praying to God. 1. Talk to God every day in your private prayer. Talk to Him as you talk to another person. Is this possible? Try it just once and you will find out. What will you gain from this kind of private prayer? You will feel that God is a real Person to whom you can talk. 2. Talking to God in your private prayer, you feel and know what kind of a person you really are. When you talk to God no one should remind you that you are not perfect. You feel it. In your private prayer you forget to blame anybody or anything, you just see yourself as you are with all your sins, shortcomings, pride, etc. 3. Talking to God in your private prayer, you don’t speculate on what is right and what is wrong. You feel it. And also you feel what you should do concerning God and your fellowmen. And you have a certain guilty feeling if you don’t do what you know you should do. 4. Talking to God in your private prayer, it is clear like the sun on the sky that you should worship God in the church every Sunday morning. I am convinced that if a person would talk to God in his private prayer Saturday evening and ask: “Lord, should I go to church tomorrow morning to worship You?”, it would be just plain impossible for that person not to come to church. (Therefore, I am afraid very few people ask this question from God Saturday evening.)
