Children and teachers of the Sunday School received individual gifts. The cost for the former was borne by the two women’s groups, for the latter by the Church Council. White gifts brought up by the children to church were sent to missions. Wedding: Lewis Simeon Fuller and Annemarie Nienburg Varga, on December 29. Funerals: Mrs. Zoltán Dályai (Margaret Pálóczi), December 13; John Csáki-Sharkey, December 27. DUQUESNE, PA. Funeral: Imre Nyisztor, 87, a lifetime member of our church. Interment in our cemetery on January 10th. We are happy to welcome back the Shigo Family; Elmer, Ann and their 5 children from a long tour of duty with US Steel in Spain. McKeesport, pa. Our Christmas worship services were well attended. Most of our members received the Holy Communion. Our faithful members gave most liberally to keep our church going. The total giving came to $7,584.85. The following gifts were donated to our Building Fund: Young Adult Fellowship $500, Women’s Guild $3,000. We are most grateful for these generous donations. The sum of $8,905.36 was given to the Building Fund in December. On December 16, we visited the Children’s Home and Old Age Home in Ligonier. We presented the people of these homes with the Christmas gifts of our church. The Congregational Meeting will be held on Sunday, January 28, 1973 at 12 a.m. If there will not be enough people present, the meeting will be conducted on Sunday, February 4, 1973 at 11:30 a.m. On this Sunday, we will hold a combined worship service at 10:30 a.m. All voting members are invited to attend. Congratulations and best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Bertalan Sipos at their 60th wedding anniversary and to Mr. and Mrs. William Orris, Sr. at their 45th wedding anniversary. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. The Annual Congregational meeting will be held on the last Sunday in January. On December 27th, the leaders of the Bethlen Youth Federation of our church attended a meeting in Ligonier, Pa. with the leaders of the Calvin Synod of the U.C. of C. youth organization. Mrs. Elizabeth Dudich and the pastor represented our church. The first Holy Communion service in 1973 will he held on Sunday, February 4th, when the newly elected elders and officers will take their oath and participate in a corporate Holy Communion. The Chancel and Chapel choirs rendered a special Christmas Cantata by J. Gillette, directed by Mrs. Chris Campbell, minister of music, accompanied by Mrs. Lillian Bányácski organist. The New Year’s Eve dinner was attended by 385 guests. It was one of the most outstanding events of the year. Thanks and appreciation to Mr. William Schurr chairman, Mr. Miklós Magyar Jr. co-chairman and the workers who helped. In our midst the Holy season truly did inspire us to celebrate. Our small church was filled with joyful, praiseful and prayerful members with whom we journeyed to Bethlehem to meet with the Savior. Our Christmas Eve service was held with the cooperation of our Youth Fellowship members, who symbolized with their candles the gifts given to us in Jesus Christ. The Lord’s Supper was participated very well. MAGYAR EGYHÁZ Our beautiful Christmas Tree this year was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Bert Somogyi Sr. Many thanks for their thoughtful kindness. Our Congregational Meeting will be held on January 28 Sunday morning after a Combined worship service. We wish all our dear friends and members a successful, joyful and blessed New Year. Funeral: On January 2nd we buried Mrs. Sándor Boldizsár, a faithful church member. She was our bellringer for many years. May God comfort those in sorrowful memories. The holiday services were well attended. Altogether 300 persons partook in the Lord’s Supper. Children of the catechism class visited four nursing homes and extended the holiday greetings to ten old Hungarian patients, with flowers and singing. The Christmas tree in the church was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Matthias. The Women’s Guild provided the poinsettia flowers in the windows of the church. The Sunday School children’s candlelight service was a part of the Christmas Eve English service. They received their gifts after the church service at a party in the school. Christmas donations. The Lorantffy Zsuzsanna Society gave $2,000, the Young Married Couples Club $50 to the church. Weddings.
