14 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ congregation. Then our pastor’s report on our church life — and different organizations. We would like to thank all our members for the work they have done, but above all to God who gave us the strength and energy. Our Congregational meeting discussed the renovation problem behind our church, but because we had no further information on the cost, the meeting entrusted the church council for further decisions. Painting of the church was also one of the points discussed, but the decision came, that only after fixing the back of the church can something be done with the painting. After all these we had our elections — first church council members then officers. Those members whose term expired this year, but accepted for another term were the following: Mr. John Kollar, Mr. Steve Varga, Bordentown, Mr. Bert Somogyi Sr. and Mr. James Gilanyi and Mr. Frank Nagy. Our officers were reelected except our Chief-Elder Mr. Bert Somogyi Jr., who resigned from his post. During our congregational meeting we couldn’t elect a new Chief-Elder, but we hope that our next congregational meeting will bring success to find one. The past month will be a memorable one also in our church life. In the memory of Mrs. Elizabeth Varga new hymnals were bought by her children, which were dedicated during our regular worship service. May God bless the memory of our beloved sister and may God bless her children who remembered their mother in such a beautiful vay. Also in the memory of our brother Mr. Alexander a new bulletin board was donated to our church by his children and family, Mr. and Mrs John Genasky, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Egyud. We would like to thank them wholeheartedly for their precious gift and may God’s blessing rest upon them always. The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Elders was held on January 10th and was presided by Rev. Gabor Csordás, Dean. A call was extended by the elders to Rev.
