The 70th anniversary banquet was held on Sunday, November 18th in our center. Special recognition was given to the oldest church members; couples who were joined in holy matrimony over 50 years ago and those who were confirmed 50 or more years ago and are still members of our church. The rededication of our sanctuary was postponed because the new pews ordered in May have not arrived yet! The debutantes at the Annual Protestant Ball in New York City included the following: Miss Pamela Hall, Miss Ilona Holló (Carteret, N.J.) and Miss Diane Sharp. The Women’s Guild members with the Carteret group sponsored a bus excursion to Roebling, N. J., where the “interguild social” was held on October 23rd. The following tombstones in our Calvary Cemetery were dedicated Sunday afternoon, October 28th: Takács Family, Uzsonyi Family; Mr. Michael Tóth and Mrs. Louis Egri’s. Several families postponed their dedication until spring. The leaders and the pastor of the church wish the members and friends of the congregation a blessed Christmas season and a happy New Year. The Christmas holiday schedule of the services were mailed to our members. There is only one request to everyone— that our members should make this Christmas an outstanding holiday by faithful attendance. The New Year’s Eve service will be held at 7:00 P.M. This service will be bilingual, — New Year’s Day services will be at the following time. Hungarian Service 10:00 A.M. English Service 11:00 A.M. At the end of the year we will prepare our Annual Report. All the books will be closed December 31. Dues, and other obligations should be in order. Our Annual Bazaar this year was replaced with a Stuffed Cabbage and donut (fank) making. Since our members were not interested, and did not sacrifice enough for the success to our bazaar, we had to do something else that would replace the income of our church. The Kolbász making brought us a $250.00 profit. At this time we cannot report on our Stuffed Cabbage and donut making. TRENTON, N. J. Commemoration of the Protestant Reformation was held in our church on October 28th during the worship services and at a church banquet. Our main speaker was Father Anthony Huber of the St. Stephen’s Hungarian Rpman Catholic Church. He emphasized the spiritual oneness of all Christians. The Akron, Ohio congregation celebrated their 40th anniversary, on October 21st, and invited our minister to preach the Hungarian sermon. Our minister was the pastor of the Akron church from 1939 to 1965. Mr. Anthony Beke and Mr. Andrew Ture, former chief-elders, conducted the worship services on October 21st while our pastor preached in Akron. Baptisms.
