Ferjentsik was baptized. Godparents: Mr. and Mrs. Steven Komjáthy. April 2: Brenda Jean, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Steele was baptized. Godparents: Mr. and Mrs. Edward Matthias, Jr. On April 3rd William Andrew, the child of Mr. and Mrs. William Bocskay received the sacrament of Holy Baptism. Godparents: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hackney.

Funerals. March 18: Joseph Jenei, Sr., the father of our chief-elder, was buried, and on March 23rd John Braytenbah.

Laymen Sunday was held on March 19th with the participation of the following members of the Young Married Couples Club: Walt Katona (sermon), Mrs. Susan Csapó and John Waldner (prayers) and Mrs. Linda Katona (Scripture reading). It was very edifying for the whole congregation.

The Very Rev. Dr. Andrew Harsanyi, dean of the Eastern Classis, had his annual visitation in our church on April 13th. He and Mr. John Nemes, the chief-elder of the Classis, attended the church council meeting on the same day.

The second Spring Dance of the Young Married Couples Club, held on April 8th, was very successful.

The Annual Bake Sale of the Women’s Guild was held on March 25th with a great success.

The Youth Fellowship visited two nursing homes and gave flowers to ten elderly Hungarian men and women.

At the ordination and installation celebration of the new Roebling minister, the Rev. Stephen Torok, our church was represented by a group of 35 men and women.

PHOENIX, ARIZONA

On February 23-rd, 1972 in the presence of the Very Rev. Tibor Dömötör Dean and the Rev. Bertalan Negyessy a group of Hungarian reformed people organized a new church in Phoenix, Arizona. The Newly established congregation called to serve the Rev. József Szirmai who will be the first permanent minister of the Phoenix church. The Rev. József Szirmai is presently in Rome, Italy. He will arrive to the United States shortly.

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO

260 members received the Holy Elements of the Lord’s Supper in the

church and eight members in their homes during the Easter Season.

The Yolanda Circle’s Card and Bingo Party held on Sunday, April 23, in the Fellowship Hall was well attended and enjoyed by all by good fellowship.

The Men’s Club made and sold Kolbász for Easter.

The Men’s Club monthly meeting was held Sunday, April 16. Plans are being made to see a Major League Baseball game, date to be announced later.

The Men’s Club with the aid of the Youth Group will have a banquet May 6, for the Protestant Men’s Bowling League.

On Mother’s Day, May 14, we will have a combined English-Hungarian service at 10:30 A.M. After the service we will have the traditional Mother’s Day Dinner. The dinner will be prepared by the Men’s Club with the Youth Group serving.

On Pentecost the English service will start at 9:30 A.M., Hungarian service at 11 A.M. During both services Holy Communion will be served.

To our sick and shut-ins a wish that’s so sincerely meant, Is certain to come true; So best of health and happy days, Will come right back to you.

Húsvéti ünnepi istentiszteleteinken megtelt templompadok hirdették a feltámadás igéje utáni éhséget az emberi szívekben. Űrvacsorával élt 231 lélek a templomban, 13 beteg testvérünk a betegágyon. A húsvéti ünnepkör teljes bevétele $3,652.96 volt.

Keresztelések: Április 9-én kereszteltük meg Sherwood Lynn Józsefet, akinek szülei Sherwood János és neje, keresztszülei Flower Stanley és neje Yolanda. Ugyancsak megkereszteltük Flower Jenny Elizabethet, akinek szülei Flower Stanley és neje, keresztszülei Smith Brian és Flower Frances. Mindkét megkeresztelt gyermek Herczeg Lajosék unokája.

Esküvők: Március 18-án templomunkban megeskettük Brandt Vernon Tamást és Binkley Cynthia Annt. Tanuk voltak: Piglia L. József és Piglia L. Bonnie. Április 1-én a cantoni Magyar Református templomban megeskettük Bihary Debra Annt és Overholt Paul

Genet. Tanuk voltak Thompson Búrt és Steckel Lanny.

Lórántffy Otthonunk hivatalos kapavágása 1972 június 11-én lesz ünnepélyes keretek között a templomunk melletti területen. Az Akroni Öregamerikások családja 1,000-os adományt, a barbertoni Független Kulturkör 500 dolláros adományt adott Otthonunkra.

Űj egyháztagjaink: Dr. Banda Árpád és Banda Terézia. Isten áldása legyen életükön.

Lelkészünk esperesi látogatást végzett a torontoi Magyar Református Egyházban és beszédet mondott az Egyesült Magyar Evangélikus és Református Egyház bankettjén Torontó, Kanadában.

Április 23-án lelkészünk igét hirdet a Windsor, ontarioi egyházunkban és egyúttal hivatalos esperesi látogatást végez a gyülekezetben.

A húsvéti úrvacsorái istentiszteleten a kicsiny gyülekezetnek majdnem minden tagja élt az úrvacsorával. Moser Juliska kántor énekével tette ünnepélyesebbé az istentiszteletet. Az istentiszteleten megjelent Varga Edward és neje az akroni Magyar Református Egyház gondnoka és felesége.

A legközelebbi úrvacsorái istentisztelet, pünkösd vasárnapján, május 21-én délután 2 órakor lesz a gyülekezetben.

Húsvétkor a két (magyar és angol nyelvű) istentiszteleleten több mint 900- an vettek részt s úriszentvacsorával 800- an éltek.

Az ünnep alkalmából az egyházról a Nőegylet 3,000, a Dorkás Kör 2,000 s az u.n. “Golden Circle Club” 200 dollár adománnyal emlékezett meg.

Lelkipásztort az Allen Parki Egyházközségek Tanácsa pénztárnokává választotta, a nagypénteki közös istentiszteleten pedig igét hirdetett.

A Vasárnapi Iskola szokásos évi “card party”-ja április 11-én volt. A bevétel az iskola céljait szolgálja.

Város-körzetünk egyik fontos évi eseménye a szabadkőmívesek vasárnapja, amely jelen esetben április 23-ára esik. A templomi szolgálatot a vendégek tiszteletére ebéd követi. Aligha van még másik magyar református gyülekezet, amelynek annyi szabadkőmíves tagja volna, mint az Allen Parkinak.
