Good Fri­day we will participate in the union services of the local Ministerium. Easter Sunday, Hungarian Service at 9:30 with communion, English Service at 11 a.m. with communion. Easter Monday 11:00 a.m. Hungarian Wor­ship Service. McKeesport, pa. Our Congregational Dinner was well attended by our members and guests. The Rev. Louis Illés and the Rev. Zol­tán Kovács were our guest speakers. Many thanks to the ladies for the deli­cious dinner and to all who helped us in any way. Our church was the host for the first Laymen’s Conference of the Hungarian Reformed Churches of Western Penn­sylvania on Sunday, February 27. Dele­gates came from Johnstown; Pittsburgh, Homestead, Duquesne and McKeesport. The Rev. Paul Markovits was the main speaker who discussed “Stewardship.” His lecture was followed by a very interesting general discussion. All the delegates said that we should get to­gether more often and strengthen the fellowship and cooperation of the Hun­garian Reformed Churches of Western Pennsylvania. Presently these churches sponsor the Hungarian Reformed Ra­dio Program which is broadcasted every Sunday at 2:45 p.m. Officers of the Women’s Guild are: Mrs. William Jardanhazy president, Mrs. Louis Jardanhazy vice president, Mrs. John Canelle secretary (1716 Beech Street, McKeesport, Pa. 15132), Mrs. Steve Balogh treasurer and Mrs. James Balogh sunshine lady. Funeral: Louis Jardanhazy at the age of 43 on February 14. He was our re­cording treasurer for many years. He served his church faithfully. Mrs. Irene Sárközi at the age of 53 on March 2. Mrs. Lőrinc Szabó on February 24. May God grant them a peaceful rest and comfort their loved ones. Holy Week and Easter Worship Ser­vices will be conducted: Holy Tuesday at 7 p.m. in English, Holy Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Hungarian, Holy Thursday at 7 p.m. in English, Good Friday at 11 a.m. in Hungarian and at 7 p.m. in English, Holy Saturday at 7 p.m. in Hungarian, Easter Sunday at 6:30 a.m. in English with Holy Communion, at 9:30 a.m. in English with Holy Com­munion, at 11 a.m. in Hungarian with Holy Communion, Easter Monday at 11 a.m. in Hungarian. The Chinese Auction of the Women’s Guild will be held on April 14th at 8:00 p.m. in the church center. The monthly meat sale by the Senior Women’s Club is scheduled for April 21. Place your order in advance. The 25th anniversary dinner of the Women’s Guild will be celebrated on April 18th. The Spring Rummage Sale sponsored by the Women’s Guild is scheduled for April 28th and 29th. Save your articles. Our Young People’s Club held a spaghetti dinner on March 11, under the direction of Carolyn Kosa advisor, the young people prepared and served an excellent dinner to over 100 persons. John Ferrary, a policeman from our city, spoke on “Crime Prevention” and the problem stimulated every one. Women’s Guild president, Mrs. John Rodvansky sang solos accompanied by Mrs. Nyary on the piano. Last February a severe windstorm blew off the shingles of the church steeple, the damage is much more than the insurance compensation, therefore we have to have a special collection for the total repair. The annual conference of the United Church Women of Eastern Area is scheduled for Sunday, May 7, in New York. TRENTON, N. J. The Trenton chapter of People to People movement arranged a great fes­tival on March 4th with the participa­tion of the ethnic groups of the city. The Hungarian community was rep­resented by our church. Our program and the delicious Hungarian foods and baked goods were highly praised. Our annual March banquet was held on March 12th. The Hungarian In­dependence War of 1848 was comme­morated. The speaker was Rev. Tibor Lőrincz, our assisting seminary student. Also the members of the church council and the leaders of the various organiza­tions were honored and Mr. Nicholas Vágott and Mr. Elmer Danch as “Men of the Year” were feted. Baptism: On February 20th Stephen Alexander, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Szilagyi was baptized. God­parents: Mr. and Mrs. Ljubisa Stefa­­novic. Also on the same day, Alexander Joseph, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Benedek received tthe sac­rament of Holy Baptism. His godparents are Gáspár Benedek and Eleanor Tor­­day.
