MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 11 The installation of the Church Coun­cil officers took place on February 13. With newly elected officers our Wo­men’s Guild also started their work for the New Year. The President of the Women’s Guild is Mrs. John Genasky, Vice President Mrs. Allen Birkholz, Treasurer Mrs. George Bordash, Sec­retary Mrs. James Harkel. Honorary President Mrs. Stefan Török. We wish all the leaders of our Church Council and Clubs God’s wisdom and strength to carry out God’s work here on earth. The members of the Lórántffy Zsu­­zsánna Nőegylet are a bit older and consequently their elections have been held off a bit. At this time, therefore, we cannot report the results of their election. Amidst our elections, however, our smaller activities were not neglected. The Lórántffy Zsuzsánna Nőegylet sponsored a successful Bake Sale. We wish to express our appreciation to all those who baked or donated. Also held was the very popular Covered Dish Supper sponsored by our Women’s Guild. We also had a Kolbász Sale last month. Our Lenten Holy Communion was served on February 20th. and was ob­served by a satisfactory number of members. The annual Sándor-József and Instal­lation Dinner will be held on March 12. STATEN ISLAND, N. Y. The annual congregational meeting reelected the following officers: Louis Kish chief elder, Albert Kish vice-chief elder Steve F. Nemeth treasurer, John Lovas, Jr. secretary, John Rodvansky was elected as assistant secretary. Re­elected as elders: Stephen Ambrus, Stephen Kish, Charles Kosa. Officers of the Women’s Guild for 1972: Mrs. John Rodvansky president, Mrs. Steve Nemeth vice president, Mrs. Helen O’Donnell treasurer, Mrs. Nor­man Andersen secretary. Sick visitors: Mrs. John Lovas and Mrs. Louis Tor­zsas. Our installation dinner honoring the officers was held on February 6th, Rt. Rev. Bishop Desző Ábrahám and 11 members of his church and Rev. László Hunyady, pastor of our Linden church, and his family attended our dinner joining with our own people in this very fine affair. Funeral: One of the most faithful officers of our church Joseph O’DonneU assistant vice president deceased un­expectedly on January 16th, and was was hurried with great sympathy. In lieu of flowers donations to our church resulted over 450 dollars. The treasurer reports the receipts in 1971 including the previous year balan­ce $15,913.54. Expenses were $8,661.86. The Women’s Guild donation was $2,667.61. On February 20, the first Sunday of Lent, the Communion will be observed and the Women’s Guild will participate in group. TRENTON, N. J. The annual congregational meeting of our church was held on January 30th. In 1971 we had 10 baptisms, 8 confir­mations, 11 marriages and 26 funerals. The total income of the church treasury was $39,669.82. Total assests at the end of 1971 are $54,552.52. Pres­ident: Mrs. Ann Lenart, two vice presi­dents: Mrs. Betty Katona and Mrs. Hetty Komjáthy, secretary: Mrs. Frank Thomas, treasurer: Mrs. Yolanda Mik­­lovics, social treasurer: Mrs. Helen Ebert, trustees: Mrs. Margaret Ero and Mrs. Helen Acs. Mrs. Frank Vereb who died last Summer left $1000.00 to our church in her last will. May God bless her mem­ory among us. Baptism. Danielle Marie, the daugh­ter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Sombatti was baptized on February 6th. Weddings. January 15: Albert Fink and Mary Lajti, January 15: Daniel Kovács and Mary Irven, February 5: Robert Revesz and Pamela Reese. Funerals. December 21: Steven Bo­­dolosky, December 29: Mrs. Stephen Pokroczos, January 18: Paul Katona, January 28: Mrs. Helen Szesti. The kitchen in the parsonage is being totally remodeled as a project of the Women’s Guild, at the cost of close to $6,000.00. The Lórántffy Zsuzsanna Society is also contributing to this project. In a few weeks the work will be completed. The annual congregational meeting authorized the Church Council to in­stall a new heating system under the church in 1972. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO From the Annual Report: receipts in 1971, including the $7,028 balance from 1970, was $32,356, expenses $25,898 (which includes $4,000 transferred to the Savings Account), leaving a balance of $6,458. The church owes to the American Hungarian Reformed Fede­ration $11,660. Last summer air conditioning units and in December carpet was installed in the church. In January wood panel­ing was installed in the hall. We would like to express our thanks to those who helped to install the paneling. We continue to serve the Hungarian Reformed people through the Hunga­rian Radio in cooperation with other Hungarian churches in the Mahoning Valley. The radio services can be heard every Sunday night at 6:30 on WPIC­­FM radio, 102.9 on your dial. The second part of the service is in English, On February 6th, the pastor, Mr. Joseph Vince a member of our con­gregation, president of the Hungarian Federation of Churches and Societies of Youngstown and the two pastors of the local Hungarian Roman Catholic churches presented the question of the release of the Hungarian Crown on a local television station. Officers elected for 1971 are the following: John Vantell English chief elder, Charles Lakatos Hungarian chief elder, Joseph Switka secretary, Albert Batta treasurer. Members of the church Council: Nick Bayus, Thomas Roy Combs, Louis Demjen, Kalmen Hag­gerty, John Halasé, Jr., James Hohvart, Frank Lesnansky, Steve Mislevy, Matt­hew Mrakovich, Steve Babo, Sr., Gab­riel Toth and Joseph Toth; alternate elders are: William Berkinyi and George Chepke. On February 5th we baptized Shery Lynn, the daughter of Joseph Takacs and his wife Dianne Ellen Jones. God parents: Ronald Ladd and Carol Ladd. On February 5th we buried our brother Joseph Shuto, whom the Lord called home after 56 years on earth. The comforting of God be with his beloved one.
