The first week of September marked the reinstallment of our regular Worship Service Hours — Sunday School at 9:00, English at 10:00 and Hungarian at 11:00. We are delighted to note that the participation in our Worship Services has grown, and trust that we shall continue to grow in attendance and membership in the future. During the first weekend in September, we took part in the Annual Bethlen Youth Federation Conference, hosted by the New Brunswick and Carteret youth groups. This was the first time, that our church was represented by more than one attendent. Five of our youth fellowship members were present at the Conference. Jeanette Bartha the vice-president of our youth fellowship was elected as the secretary of the Bethlen Youth Federation for the year 1972-73. Our Pastor participated the meetings of the Ministerial Association and Bethlen Home Directory meetings. Rev. Stefan Török was elected to the post of secretary of the Ministerial Association. We started our confirmation class with three children. We started our Bible Study Fellowship group for our adult members. Holy Communion for New Bread, and our World Wide Holy Communion was held in our church the first Sunday in October. Our first Kolbas making was held on October 20, which was the first kolbas making after the summer months—it was a success. It is a shame that our older people are dying out, and the young ones have no time to help us out. Marriage: Mr. James Cheesman and Elizabeth Nemeth joined in marriage on September 30. Y. 10307, telephone 212-984-0927. World Wide Communion was observed October 15. The elements were offered by Mrs. Nicholas Nyary. After the very long summer vacation let everybody attend the worship services and take Communion. We offered a Thanksgiving prayer for our former chief elder and hymn leader Joseph Docs and his wife at their 54th wedding anniversary. Our best known annual affair is Annual Bazaar. Our very diligent and untiring women who made all preparations are to be commended for their accomplishments. We are also very thankful for the many donors of gifts, home made articles. The result was very encouraging. We resumed our regular schedule. In the Sunday School we have nine children. Misses Rachel Rodvansky and Judy Nemeth are the faithful teachers. Our young People’s Club is active under the leadership of Miss Carolyn Kosa. Mr. Andrew Kutko deceased at 77 after a very long and painful sickness. TRENTON, N. J. Two great projects. A new gas heating system was installed under the church during the summer months and also the roof and steeple of the church were newly covered. These two projects cost about $15,000. Baptisms. On July 2nd John Edward, the child of Mr. and Mrs. John Molnár, on July 16th Gavin Reece, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph K. Toth, on August 13th Charles Colston, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Browne, and on July 30th John Sidney, the child of Mr. and Mrs. John Raines were baptized. Marriage. Thomas T. Miller and Loretta Jacobs were married on September 9th. Russel Ministero and Sandra Valeri were married on September 23rd and Richard Taylor and Rose Vilma Lugossy on September 28th. Funerals. Wargo; July 24, George Bohonyi; July 29, Stephen Pavelka and Louis Bartha; September 3, Stephen Tisza, September 19, John Mizsak. In absence of our minister in August the Rt. Rev. Louis Nagy, the Rev. Stephen Torok and the Rev. Tibor Lorincz were kind to conduct the ministerial services. The Men’s Club feted Mr. Jules Borcsik, the treasurer of our church and that of the Men’s Club, with a banquet on September 23rd. Mr. Borcsik is one of our most faithful church workers. The principal speaker at the banquet was the Rt. Rev. Dr. Zoltán Béky. the president of the Hungarian Reformed Federation. Harvest Dance of the Women’s Club was held on October 28th with a great success. The Hamilton Square Youth Choir with forty members took part in our English service on November 1st. The choir was invited by the Young Married Couples Club of our church. The performance of the Choir was a great experience for our congregation. A Social Afternoon was arranged for our church members and friends on September 24th. It helped the church treasury with $300. YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO During the summer we have covered the floor of the auditorium with new tiles. The work was done by the members of the congregation and thus a significant amount was saved. We would like to express our thanks to all those who have helped finish this job. Eight members of the Youth Group, 2 adults and the pastor took part at the Bethlen Youth Federation Conference. On the first Sunday in October, on World Wide Communion Sunday the members of our congregation took communion in more than satisfactory number. During the month of September the Rev. Alexander Marton underwent eye operation. The operation was successful and the Rev. Alexander Marton is on the way of full recovery. On November 5th, we will have communion for New Wine. English service at 9:30 A.M., Hungarian service at 11 AM. On November 12th we will have Orphanage Sunday. Also on November 12th, at 5 P.M., with the Hungarian churches around Youngstown, we will celebrate the 5th Anniversary of our Radio services. We will celebrate at the Calvin Center in Youngstown.
