MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 15 Donors of $1,000.00 will have their names, or one of their loved ones, displayed on the doors of individual rooms. Clubs and organizations may preserve the names of one of their outstanding presidents or leaders in the same manner. Thousands of visitors will read these names and will remember those persons, who otherwise would perhaps be fading from memory. Contributors of $2,000.00 will be in fact donating the complete furnishings of a patients’ room. Their names will be preserved for posterity on a plaque prominently displayed within the room. All donations should be mailed to the following address. Lorantffy Care Center 2631 Copley Road, Akron, Ohio 44321. We will thank for and acknowledge every donation. May God open your hearts and help you to decide to contribute! Fill Out Application Blanks for Admission In view of the fact that interest in the Lorantffy Care Center is being expressed throughout the nation, we once again urge and remind our older brethren to fill out the Application Blanks for Admission. The filling out of the application does not obligate the applicant in any way, but it does obligate the Lorantffy Care Center to admit such applicant, when he or she expresses the desire to enter the Home, with only stipulation that it follow the order of the original signing date of the Application for Admission. Opening Date The Lorantffy Care Center, God willing, will open its doors July 1, 1973 for our ageing, sick or lonely Hungarian brethren, to all who are in need of a home providing truely Hungarian care, cuisine and love with Christian service. Blessed be the name of the Lord who leadeth His people through all difficulties and thus glorifies His name among us! His alone is the power and the glory! ☆ THE MIRACLE OF FAITH (Groundbreaking Speech) Distinguished Guests, Honored Visitors, Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to this momentous occasion when we finally, after a year of gruelling work and planning, have, with the blessing of God, the opportunity to break ground for our Lorantffy Care Center, a hundred and two bed, one million two hundred thousand dollar monument to God dedicated to the service, care and love of our fellow men in need during the autumn of their lives. Yesterday afternoon, when our minister, the Very Reverend Tibor Dömötör, Dean of the Western Clas- 8is called me on the phone and asked me to officiate at the actual ground breaking ceremonies today, I felt at once honored and humbled, and, yes even a little scared; I wondered what I would be able to say. Mysterious are the ways of the Lord! Who would have thought that he and I, immigrants both, who attended neighboring schools in Budapest, and did not know one another, would 5000 miles away and a quarter of a century later meet and be involved in th^ greatest undertaking of any Hungarian group on the North American Continent. We, as members of this congregation are this day proclaiming hope and the promise of tomorrow to all our enslaved brethren behind the iron curtain. We are offering them proof positive of the benefits of freedom; of what people can do for themselves, if they are left to do their work free of government intervention. The miracle of faith is about to happen. The thought, which a year ago was like the mustard seed has today sprouted and a year from now will be a mighty tree, its branches spread wide to comfort and shadow our aging brethren. This congregation, the church council, the building committee and the members of the board of directors of the Lorantffy Care Center put forth super human effort, because we were building for God and not just for ourselves. We purchased additional necessary land, we obtained the zoning permit, we battled to solve our water and sewer problems and a miriad other material fights and we fought mightily to obtain the necessary financing. All of these are now behind us, and we are here today, to give thanks to the Lord, who made all of this possible. And now, without further ado, let us move to lift the shovels to break ground for the Lorantffy Care Center which promises to deliver true Hungarian care, cuisine, love and compassion by an expert bilingual staff a year from now, when we open its doors for Christian action! Rev. Domotor, please take the shovel. . . Hugo Pfahler
