14 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 1972 Confirmation Class, Perth Amboy, N. J. Bishop Dezső Ahraham. NEWS FROM THE CONGREGATIONS AKRON, OHIO The date of our annual musical picnic is July 9, 1972. The place of the picnic is the St. Nicholas Park, 1051 Robinson Avenue, Barberton, Ohio. Wedding. On May 27th, Andy Pal and Cynthia Gribble in our church. Witnesses were Larry Vernotzky and Constance Querry. Funeral: Mrs. Ester Petrik, 71, on June 17 th. ALLEN PARK, MICH. The Annual Dinner honoring mothers was held on May 11. The Golden Circle Club members hosted this very wellreceived activity. Over 260 persons were present. Pentecost Sunday was marked with solemnity. Large congregations received the Communion Elements. The captive church behind the Iron Curtain was remembered in our prayers this day. The Youth Fellowship held a successful Bake Sale on Mother’s Day. The Men’s Guild presented mothers with carnations at the Mother’s Day services of worship. Pastor and Mrs. Darocy attended the meeting of Hungarian Reformed Church ministers at Ligonier, Pa. The Ladies’ Aid Society held a successful spring bazaar in May. Net income was $1,870.06. Many thanks to Mrs. George Kovács, president, and the fine members of this group. Young people who graduated from high schools and colleges were honored on Sunday, June 11, by members of the Dorcas Guild, led by Mrs. Helen Kaplar. We know that the future of the church is its youth, and were happy to extend our congratulations to such a large number of fine young men and women. From January 1 to June 3, 1972, our Church Register notes that we have had 10 baptisms: 9 infants and 1 adult; 5 weddings and 9 members deceased. Members received include 11 adults and 14 young people by confirmation. Baptisms: Lori Ann Fecso and Wendy Lynn Varga were baptized on May 14. Weddings: May 13, Richard L. Marshall and Deborah H. Cain; June 3, Robert B. Fenkel and Julianne Rejko. Death: John Hodi, vice president of the congregation, died suddenly on May 7. An outstanding leader, he was in all respects a man of integrity and character. His loss is a tragic blow to our Christian fellowship. May God give consolation to his widow, Helen, and family members. BETHLEHEM, PA. The Holy Elements for the Lord’s Supper at Pentecost were donated by Mr. and Mrs. Edward Erdie. Our organist, Mrs. James Nagy has retired. The congregation wishes to express their deep thanks for her many years of service. Miss Robin Csizma took over as organist. Those who donated rosebushes for the decoration of our church grounds are Edward Erdie, Julius Szalai, and Imre Kery. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Biro continue their unselfish work of beautifying the church grounds. Mr. and Mrs. Imre Kery celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on June 10th. New member: Elizabeth Horwath. Welcome. Wedding: Geza Vegh and Elizabeth Zsamar were united in holy matrimony on June 10. Rev. Paul Ferenczy assisted our pastor in the service. May God bless the newlyweds. CARTERET, N. J. The June 4 50th anniversary celebration of the foundation of the congregation’s Lorántffy Society was a day of rejoicing for all.
