MAGYAR EGYHÁZ 9 Up till now we’ve been Imprisoned, Our forebears are condemned, For those, who in freedom lived and died, Can never rest in lands enslaved! By the God of Hungary we swear, we swear! That imprisonment we will no longer bear! A rotten, evil, coward is he, Who’s not willing to die, now, when necessary He who deems his life worth more, Than his country’s name of yore! By the God of Hungary we swear, we swear! That imprisonment we will no longer bear! Unlike the chain, the sword’s much nobler. It befits a man much better! And yet chains we wear? Lets get the old swords to bear! By the God of Hungary we swear, we swear! That imprisonment we will no longer bear! The Hungarian name will again soar To the lofty heights, of its ancient lore! We will remove the ill repute, Which past centuries impute. By the God of Hungary we swear, we swear! That imprisonment we will no longer bear! There, where our graves will be. Our grandchildren will kneel And in fervent prayer Our blessed names will remember. By the God of Hungary we swear, we swear! That imprisonment we will no longer bear! It was a flame, which burned brightly and beatifully, but with the help of the Russian troops of Czar Nicholas I, requested by emperor Franz Joseph of Austria, the flame was ruthlessly snuffed out in August of 1849 at Világos. How ironic, the the flame should die in the city whose very name means light. It is indeed fitting and proper that we should reflect on these events, particularly in our day, when the forces of darkness disguised under many banners and varigated organizations: communist, fabian, socialist, liberal and radical are hard at work, even here, to snuff out the light of liberty. What is even worse, since 1932 certain elements in every branch of our federal government, well intentioned but blinded, in complete disregard of the axiom that “power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely” have been hard at work at assembling a power base in Washington, which threatens our very own precious consitution with extinction. For on this continent, preceeding the event, we are gathered here to commemorate, by some three score years, mankind and Christian ideals, after milleneums of trying, finally succeeded in writing a document, the most precious human document ever written, the U. S. Constitution, the essence of America, which begins with the affirmation of these Christian ideals. “We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.” We can briefly summarize the Bill of Rights thusly: “Government derives its just powers from us, the governed. We the governed limit the powers of the government. Congress shall make no law abridging these specific sacred rights.” Christianity and the American Constitution put the individual in the center of importance, on the other hand socialism, communism, liberalism, call it what you will, declares that the individual is nothing, and the masses and the state is everything. It is well for us to remember that God created man and that man created the state. Viewed in this light, how is it possible for the state to be more important than man, his very creator. Talk, that it is so, is absolute folly. Yet, for thirthv eight years now dogooders, in every branch of the federal government, have been methodically brain washing the public into believing that prosperity is dispensed from Washington. Federally financed public housing, aid to education, subsidies of any kind and graduated taxation are clearly unconstitutional and illegal, and yet you and I, hard working taxpayers are reeling under their load. Would you believe, that since Ian Smith came to power in Rhodesia, we now buy our chromium, which is strategic and vital for our national defense, from Russia, the only other source. But aiding and abetting the enemy does not stop there. We, the taxpayers, for better than 20 years now have been forced to give away our national wealth via foreign aid; aid which benefitted every country but two in the world, Rhodesia and South Africa. Since the federal budget had been in deficit during the entire foreign aid program, fully half the national debt is attributable to it; think about it — $199 billion. This staggering sum has bought us nothing but despair, runaway inflation, near national bankruptcy, a marxist president freely elected in Chile, several South American dictators, who, having come to power with the aid of your money, are now busy expropriating american properties at your expense. We have managed to give Russia a new lease on life, and enriched her with some 70 million slaves and their former lands. For what? I say to you, it is time you too should arise, America needs you. The terror that once was Stalin, now is Brezhnev and company, Mao Tse Tung and their ilk is also threatening you and your precious constitution with extinction, even from the very seat of your government. The absolutism of Austria’s Metternich in 1848, I say to you, was nothing compared to that now being exercised from Washington.
