We start the Lenten season with a combined worship service on February 28. The Lord’s Supper will be served on March 7. The Congregational Meeting on Janu­ary 24 reelected the officers of the last year. President: Edward Erdie, vice­­president: John Simon, secretary: Imre Kovary, treasurer: Leslie Fekete, con­troller: John Bartek. The annual dinner to honor the newly elected officers was held on February 14. Total income of the church treasury in 1970: 29,221.85. Total expense: 28,330.97. Balance for 1971: 890.88. CARTERET, N. J. The Annual Congregational Meeting on Jan. 24 approved the stewardship figures for 1970 which showed $30,703 receipts and $29,606 expenses; together with the previous year’s carryover the total balance was $17,630. Out of the $29 thousand $2,850 or almost 10% were spent for various benevolence and welfare causes. Elected or re-elected were the following oficers and elders: Leonard Sendelsky, chief elder; Francis Ullersbt rger and Bela Kantor, vice chief elders; Frank Vérségi, secretary; Wal­ter Kovács, treasurer and Mrs. George Sheridan, financial secretary; Joseph Adam, Harry Brand, Roy Jensen, Bela Kantor, John Nemish, Joseph Timari, Jr., Francis Ullersbcrger elders, Bela Csutoros, Kent Dodge alternate elders. The Annual Meeting voted a salary in­crease of 5.57% to the Pastor. Elder Julius Reisz was commended for over 30 years service as financial secretary, retiring Elder Alexander Comba for 10 years of service on the Church Council. These are the names of the new offic­ers of the Junior Women’s Guild: Mrs. Violet Nemish president, Mrs. Helen Sheridan vice-president, Mrs. Judy Sen­delsky and Mrs. Margie Kara secretar­ies, Mrs. Helen Nemish treasurer, Mrs. Helen Hamer chaplain. They were sworn in by the Pastor in church and installed by Mrs. Margaret Harsanyi, advisor, at the February meeting. Funeral: John Szalka, 44, on January 27. DUQUESNE, PA. Funeral-. Julius Alexa, on February 1st. Interment in our cemetery. The Annual Congregational Meeting authorized the purchase of a Rodgers Custom Organ (Model 32-D). The three manual, custom built, drawknob organ with a computer capture combina­tion will be installed on April 5th. The Organ Committee is planning an organ dedication festivity and concert. Details will follow in future issues. The Annual Congregational Meeting also elected the new officers for the year 1971. Chief elder: John Darnay: Hun­garian Assistant Elder: Michael Beres; English Assistant Elder: Richard Heyz, Secretary: Frank Kottán, Treasurer: Joseph Voros, Auditor: John Estu, Of­fering Recorder: Jules Nagy. New coun­cil-men elected in adition to those pre­sently serving were John Horvath and Robert Szepesi. The Sunday School sponsored a hoa­­gie-sale to finance a field trip for the students. McKeesport, pa. Holy Communion for Lent will be observed on Sunday, February 28 at both Worship Services. Preparatory Ser­vices will be conducted on Friday, Feb­ruary 26. English will be at 7:30 p.m. and Hungarian at 6:45 p.m. Officers for the year of 1971 are: John Kuntz chief elder, Joseph Marton and Steve Balogh vice chief elders, Al­bert Bertok secretary, Robert Jordan­­hazy auditor, William Arokhaty assist, treasurer, Sándor Nagy assist, recording secretary, Andrew Makature assistance auditor. Newly elected elders are: An­drew Makatura, Alex Meszar, Arthur Pogyor, Andrew Sotak, John Varga, Jo­seph Szarka and Robert Jaclitch. May the good Lord help these officers and elders to fulfill their duty and obliga­tion. The following are the officers of the Women’s Guild: Mrs. Sándor Nagy pre­sident, Mrs. Edith Rausch vice presi­dent, Mrs. William Arokhaty secretary and Mrs. Steve Balogh treasurer. Once again the unity of the two Hun­garian Reformed Churches of McKees­port are being discussed. We hope that the merger will take place soon. May God help us in our undertaking. Mrs. Elizabeth Szenai-Sailor died on December 3, 1970. May God give her peaceful rest and comfort to her loved ones. Sándor Emery Chomos was named to the Dean’s List at University of Pitts­burgh. Nancy J. Chomos participated in the Western Pennsylvania District Orchestra. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. The officers of our Church and the leaders of the various organizations gave their annual report on Sunday, January 31, 1971. Mr. John S. Kovács, Jr. reported the church income in 1970 was $73,736.67 and the expenses totaled $64,096.81. Mrs. Julius Király, Treasurer of the Senior Women’s Club reported an in­come of $7,661.34 plus the balance from the previous year of $13,275.02 amounted to a total of $20,936.36 while the expenses were $15,112.52. (Organ Fund) Mrs. Andrew Racz, Jr., Treasurer of the Women’s Guild reported an income in 1970 to $9,058.40 and expenses $8,609.64.
