Communion Preparatory Services will be held on May 16th at 7:30 P.M. The Young Adults Christian Felt lowship is sponsoring a “Melodies in Gold” Dance on May 23, 8 PM. Reservations must be made in advance. DUQUESNE, PA. Funerals: Charles Farkas, March 18th. He was a charter member and former officer of our congregation. Interment followed in our cemetery. Mrs. Dora Vaskó, March 2ilst. Interment followed in our cemetery. Our church hosted the Western Pennsylvania branch’s meeting of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, on April 19th. The Right Reverend dr. Zoltán Beky, bishop and president of the Federation and the Right Reverend Arpad George, national secretary were our guest speakers at the Sunday morning services. On May 10th our Men’s Club will Sponsor the Mother’s Day dinner. The men will also do the cooking. Confirmation Sunday is also on May 10th. Three boys and three girls will be confirmed this day. The Pentecost Season’s services are: Pentecost Sunday, May 17th, at 9:30 Hungarian Worship Service with Holy Communion. 11:00 a.m. English Worship Service with Holy Communion. The members of the confirmation class and their parents and godparents will take communion together. This will be the first communion of the class members. McKeesport, pa. During Lent we held worship services every Thursday evening and during Holy Week every evening. The attendance at these services was reasonable. The Holy Thursday and Good Friday worship services were well attended. In spite of the heavy snow many of our members were in church and lived with the Holy Communion on Easter Sunday. The participation of our Junior Choir and the singing of Mrs. Louis Jardanházy added to the meaninig of our worship services. 227 people — including the sick and shut in — lived with the Holy Communion. We are working on our mailing list. We ask for the kind cooperation of our members. Members who did not receive our Easter letter and members whose addresses are incorrect, should notify the Church Office of the correction as soon as possible. A Senior High Sunday School class was started for our young people. We/urge our young people to use this opportunity for their spiritual improvement. Our Youth Fellowship was reorganized. The meetings are held every second Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Our church is interested in our young people, but in order to carry on the youth program of our church we need the cooperation of our young people and their parents. The Pastor was the speaker at the March 15th celebration of the Hungarian people of greater McKeesport. Many of our members were present. The following worship services will be held on Ascension Thursday: 11:00 a.m. Hungarian and 7:00 p.m. English. On Mother’s Day the worship services will be held at the regular time. Our children will have a short Mother’s Day Program. A dinner will be held at 1.2 noon. Everyone is invited. We ask our members to put this day aside for their church. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. Due to an unsual snowstorm church attendance on Easter Sunday was less than in previous years. 31 sick and shut-in members received holy communion in hospitals and in their homes. Our holiday assistant was Béla Pohóczky, from New York City. The annual area Women’s Conference will be held on Sunday, May 3rd in Roebling N.J. An autobus will be sponsored for your convenience: please, reserve your seats early! On Ascension Day, May 7th, at 7:30 P.M., the Senior Confirmation Clas examination will take place in the church. Parents, relatives and members are urged to attend. On Mother’s Day, May 10th, divine worship services will be held as usual: Sunday School and English at 9:00 A.M., Hungarian at 10:30 A.M. Hungarian folk music festival will be held in our Center at 3:00 P.M. On Pentecost, the Senior Confirmation Class members will receive Holy Communion for the first time. God-parents, grandparents and all members should be present! A Mother’s Day dinner arranged by the Women’s Guild is scheduled for Sunday, May 17th at 12 noon. Plan to attend! Statistics: David James, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bankó, and Lori- Lillian, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Latkovich were received into the church through baptism. The new organ of the church was dedicated on February 22nd. Bishop Dezső Abraham preached in Hungarian and Dean Dr. Andrew Harsányi in English. Beautiful moments of this festival were when the church was presented with two flags: Mr. and Mrs. Béla Emri donated a Hungarian flag to the church and Mrs. George Bordash a Christian flag to the Sunday School. The Rev. Barnabás K. Röczey, who began his ministry in our McKeesport, Pa. church preached on February 22nd for the last time. At a reception following the evening service he was presented with several farewell gifts. For the time being the pastoral changes in Roebling is vacant. The Rev. Árpád Csaba Orosz, student assistant minister from Nagyvárad, Transylvania and at present a graduate at Princeton Theological Seminary supplies the church. On March 22nd the Rev. Paul Ferenczy was quest preacher at the Palm Sunday services. During Holy Week and at the Easter worship services a great number of the faithful attended. Particularly many people were present at the Easter morning “Sunrise Service”, at the following Hungarian service and at the Easter breakfast meeting of the congregation. The Annual United Church Women of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America Easter Area be held at the Roebling Church on Sunday May5, 1970. The Confirmation will take place on April 26, 1970 in the worshipservice. STATEN ISLAND, N. Y. According to wheather experts only in 1915 was such an icy-snowy Easter. Church attendance, was accordingly quite poor. On Palm Sunday and Easter Mrs. Augustine Knorr and Mrs. Emma Turnier beautified the church with flowers. Seminarian István Török was our guest at our Installation Dinner. On Mother’s Day, following the united English-Hungarian worship service a Mother’s Day Dinner will be served in the hall.
