16 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ DETROIT-ALLEN PARK, MICHIGAN The Youth Fellowships of the Western Classis held a District Conference at our church on October 10 and 11. Our Annual Bazaar was very successful. The income for the two day bazaar was $3,164.37. The Sacrament of The Lord’s Supper was observed on November 1. Our Annual Grape Festival Dance was held on November 7. The Hungarian Dance group of our church depicted in song and dance scenes of a Grape Festival in Old Hungary. Our Jr. Youth Fellowship Group sponsored a “Round-Up” for prospective members. A camp-fire was used to roast hot-dogs and marshmallows. Hot chocolate, and group singing accompanied by Joel Shigo’s guitar assured us of success despite the cold drizzle. The date was November 14th, Saturday, 6:30 p.m. A Committee on Rules and By-Laws for our congregation completed its work and members were guests at special meetings of the church council to approve these rules and by-laws to be submitted to the Congregational Meeting. Copies will be mailed to all church members to be studied and to be discussed at our January congregational meeting. The Rev. Joseph Simon was our guest speaker on October 18th. He also spoke on our radio program. Rev. Simon is the pastor of the Reformed Church in Karos, Zemplén megye, Hungary. The pastor and many members of the congregation participated in the “Reformation Day” services of the Hungarian Prot. Ministerial Association of Pittsburgh and Vicinity, held in the Homestead Hungarian Ref. Church on November 1st. McKeesport, pa. The annual Promotion Day of our Sunday School was held on the last Sunday of September. Many of our children received attendance pins and were promoted. We wish to express our thanks to Mr. Robert Jacklitch superintendent and all the teachers for the excellent program. Mrs. Louis Járdánházy sang “I Will Walk With God.” The program was followed by refreshments prepared by the teachers and parents. We held a Halloween Party for our children in our Church Hall. Our young people did the decorations. We appreciate the cooperation of our parents and teachers. Thank you for a job well done. Many of our members attended the testimonial dinner given in honor of the Rev. Louis Nagy, our former pastor. Rev. Nagy was honored as the “Man of the Year” by the Hungarian people of McKeesport on Saturday, October 10. Among the guests we saw many of the leaders of various organizations, churches and the City of McKeesport. We participated in the Reformation Day Worship Service of the Hungarian Protestant Ministerial Association of Pittsburgh and Vicinity. The service was held on Sunday, November 1 at the Hungarian Reformed Church of Homestead. Our Pastor delivered the Hungarian sermon. We all enjoyed the fellowship of our Hungarian brethren. Burial: Mrs. Irene Smith. May God grant her a peaceful rest and may he comfort her loved ones. PERTH AMBOY, N. J. The Women’s Guild’s annual Christmas bazaar will be held on Dec. 6 from 12 noon on in our Center. Their party will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 15. The Christmas program of our Sunday School children will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20. The Christmas holiday schedule will be mailed to our members. The Church Council will sponsor the New Year’s Eve Dinner. Plan to attend! Dr. and Mrs. William Toth celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in Edison, N. J. on Nov. 14 with relatives and friends. Congratulations! The tombstone of William Kardos and Mrs. L. Nemeth was dedicated in our cemetery on Nov. 1. Colored-picture Christmas cards of our church are available. Our new organ dedication on Nov. 15 will be remembered for a long-long time by all who attended the ceremonies. Our newly-organized Youth Choir under the direction of Mrs. Chris Campbell, from Westminster Choir College, meets every Sunday at 6:30 P.M. On November 22 we have our New Wine Thanksgiving Communion in both services. The result of our annual bazaar was $1,339.45 clear. Again we express our sincere thanks and appreciation to our very effective and industrious co-workers and very generous donors. This profit was the best in the last 10 years. The Thanksgiving united English Hungarian service were held with our neighbor American Reformed Church members November 25 evening. Following the service a coffee hour were for our guests. We offered a thanksgiving prayer for our former chief elder and hymn leader Joseph Docs and his wife at their 52nd wedding anniversary. A friend of our Church Jack Kroeger donated his time with our treasurer Steve F. Nemeth to tar the seams on the church kitchen roof. Further they repaired the hall roof which was in a very bad shape. Many thanks for this exemplary action. TRENTON, N. J. Our new Allen electronic organ was dedicated during the worship service on October 18th. Rev. David Mellon, Executive Director of the Trenton Council of Churches preached the sermon. The inaugural dedication in Hungarian was given by Rev. Stephen Kovács, the English by Professor August Molnár. The versatile tones of the organ were revealed by the beautiful classical selections played by our organist, Charles Balogh. The quartet selection sung by the Balogh family and the solo of Andrea Anderson added inspirational dignity to the service. Participants at the banquet which followed the service were: Bishop Dezső Abraham, Dean Dr. Andrew Harsanyi, Dr. Andrew M. Sebben of the Trenton First Presbyterian Church, Mayor Arthur Holland, Rev.
