12 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ devoted Christian lay people (but definite members of the priesthood of all believers!) and through them the unsung heroes, co-laborers of the Youth Fellowships who made this conference possible. (How about sending a get-well card to these two wounded veterans of BYF?... in care of the editorin-chief of this paper?) Just one more note on the lighter side ... will someone tell my wife that “Rosie” was NOT a girl-friend’s name... oh, yes,... she would like to know, why do I ask her “what time you close?” instead of saying good-night, and instead of “good morning, honey!” why do I have to yell: “up against the wall, Mrs. Illés!” Rev. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE To: All Former Members of the Bethlen Youth Federation Several former members of the B. Y. F. who are a part of the planning committee met at Duquesne, Pa., on October 17, 1970, to formulate plans for an Alumni Association conference tentatively to be held in Duquesne during the Labor Day week-end of 1971. In formulating these plans we anticipate that the conference will be held in the same general format as the B. Y. F. conferences of our era. To all who have participated in past B. Y. F. conferences and are 25 years of age or older, we ask for your support. If you have any ideas or suggestions please send them to your local representative. If you don’t know your representative, contact one of the following people listed below. General Chairman: Robert Szepesi, 1707 Educational Drive, McKeesport, Pa. 15131. Co-Chairman: In East: William Orosz, 42 Proctor Avenue, Edison, N. J. In West: Julius Nagy, 322 Circle Drive, McKeesport, Pa. 15131 During our era we had a very strong and effective B.Y.F. organization. We the planning committee ask your help in making the Alumni Association just as strong and active, so that the young people of our churches know we care and are concerned about them by giving them an opportunity to step into an adult organization where they will continue to grow in Christian faith and fellowship. Yours In Christ, Former Members of the B.Y.F. Duquesne, Pa. P.S. Keep in mind that this conference will be open to you and members of your family (children included). Supervision will be provided for children during meeting periods. U. S. SERVICEMEN HOOKED ON COMMUNIST DOPE Red China, which many of our deluded intellectuals are so eager to welcome into the “family of nations,” is engaged in heavy dope traffic to Vietnam. As if the war in itself was not bad enough, and the drug addiction of the young at home, we now have the two burdens combined in another national tragedy. The U. S. Army command in Saigon reported a sharp increase in soldiers sent to hospital for narcotics addiction. Twenty-five died from using drugs during the first nine months of the year, compared with 16 during all of 1969. Eleven of the 15 fatalities occured during the last three months. Another 64 deaths during the same brief period headquarters said, “could possibly have resulted” from drug use. They described the drug problem as “a matter of grave concern.” “By the way, dear — did you say Joe Namath got ten thou for this?” The re-location of “Sugar Shack”.Will the real Rosie please sit down? ...
