J__L MAGYAR EGYHÁZ ALLIANCE, OHIO Joseph Mate resigned as the chief elder of our church. During the past years Mr. Mate worked very hard for the little congregation. May God bless richly our former chief elder and his faithful wife. Louis Éltető is our new chief elder. May God bless Mr. Éltető and his service for the future of our congregation. BETHLEHEM, PA. The dedication of the new churchhall on 3rd Street will be in November. The Lord’s Supper was observed on July 26. Our second doggie-roast was held on August 16 in the yard of Mr. and Mrs. John Waros. Burials: Joseph Csikai, 60, on July 8, Mrs. John Phillip, 53, on July 17. Guest ministers: Mr. John Kurz on June 28, the Rev. Maria Babos on July 19. CARTERET, N. J. 102 faithful gathered around the Lord’s Table for “new Bread” communion; the average number at such summer occasions. World Wide Communion is scheduled for October 4. Carteret wifi, be the host to the Eastern Area Elders’ Conference on October 11. The annual congregational dinner will be held on October 31. The Junior Women’s Guild is making preparations for a Chinese Auction—an annual affair—to take place Monday, September 14 in Bethlen Hall. Regular worship hour schedule will be resumed September 20. This will also be Rally Day date in the Sunday School. A busload of Sunday School children were taken for a day-trip to the Bronx Zoo. Nobody got hurt or lost and the children enjoyed the trip very much. Bishop Dr. Tibor Bartha from Debrecen, Hungary was the guest preacher at both services on June 7. Baptisms: Nicholas James, son of Nicholas James Kenney and Linda Joyce Spratford on July 11; godparents: Raymond and Pearl Hatten. — Lisa Marie, daughter of Kenneth Harold Kronenfeld and Irene Ethel Szabó on July 12; godparents: William Szabó and Mrs. Irene Szilniczky. — Kimberly Dawn, daughter of William George Landers, Jr. and Jennifer Karen Jensen on August 4; godparents: Ronald and Linda Pross. Contributions to the Flood Relief to aid the victims of the recent disastrous floods in Hungary will be taken from September to December. DETROIT-ALLEN PARK, MICHIGAN September 13 is Rally Day in our church. We will start our fall congregational program on this Sunday. Sunday School will resume as well as the activities of the choirs and all church organizations. Our Senior Youth Fellowship are off to the National Bethlen Youth Federation Conference in New Jersey. A chartered bus left Detroit, stopping enroute to pick up the Duquesne and McKeesport delegations. Our young people are looking forward to another rewarding spiritual experience. A delegation of our elders are participating in the annual meetings held at Ligonier. Bethlen Home Sunday was held on August 23. The Rev. Louis Nagy, superintendent, was our guest speaker. Our congregation donated $500 to the Bethlen Home. On August 23 we were hosts to the meeting of the Western Classis. Wedding: Christine Lisabeth Estu and Mark Skalican, September 12th. Communions: Harvest-Home Communion was observed on August 2nd, with 114 participants. Four members received the Holy Elements in their homes. World Wide Communion will be observed on October 4th. 19 The Duquesne and McKeesport Youth Fellowships held a picnic jointly at Idlewild Park on July 26th. The two Youth Fellowships will share a bus with the Detroit Youth Fellowship going to the BYF National Conference in New Jersey. The Hungarian Protestant Ministers’ Association of Western Pennsylvania held its monthly meeting here, hosted by the Pastor and his wife. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Zoltán Beky was the speaker at the annual Hungarian Day in Kennywood Park. This is a Tri-State event; Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia area Hungarians McKeesport, pa. “New Bread” Holy Communion was well attended. Vacation Bible School was held for two weeks in June. It was a success. The average attendance was 75. Our thanks to the teachers, helpers, parents and children. The closing program and picnic were enjoyed by both the children and the members of our church. Sunday School classes will be resumed on the second Sunday of September. At the July meeting of the Church Council Mr. Glenn Bickerstaff was selected as the architect for our Church Building Program. Mrs. Elizabeth Molnár was called home by the Giver of life. May God grant her a peaceful rest and comfort her loved ones. World-Wide Holy Communion will be held on the first Sunday of October. The holy elements will be administered at both worship services.
