12 MAGYAR EGYHÁZ Debra L. Combs, Charles L. Pallai, John R. Sabo, Randall J. Seiner, Mariann K. Toth, Dana M. Vantell and James D. Westhead. On Mother’s Day the annual dinner was sponsored by the Youth Group. 160 persons were present. The profit will be used by the Youth Group to attend the Bethlen Youth Conference. On June 15th during the combined service the Man of the Year award was presented to Mr. James Hohvart, an elder of the church. The picnic for our Sunday School children was held at the Pine View Acres on June 29th. Our first bowling team was the runner up in the Liberty Protestant League. On May 10th we buried Mrs. John Patkanoczy, a charter member of our church, and on May 26th Michael Wass. God be with the sorrowing families. YOUTH NEWS BETHLEN YOUTH FEDERATION With less than two months remaining, the preparation for the 30th Annual B.Y.F. Labor Day Conference has been put into high gear. The program has been drawn up and the days seem to be so jampacked with spiritual and recreational activities that no one will have time to get into mischief. From dawn to dusk everyone will be kept busy doing something he enjoys. There will be four meetings with the speakers, whose topic, “Is My Religion Relevent?’’, will be dealt with in great length and detail. The topic, as explained in the May Newsletter, brings to mind certain questions that should be pondered upon and your answers and questions brought to camp. Just how does your religion affect and reflect your life toward your God, your family, your friends, and your Christian responsibility to the whole world? How do you think this relevancy of religion can be achieved, if it hasn’t already been achieved? Of course, there will be ample time set aside for discussion and free time when you will be able to meet with the speakers, continue your discussion, or do whatever you please. There will always be something for you to do during recreation. The games and sports will be set lip in such a manner that you will at some time during the weekend be able to participate in all of them. There will be two dances. One on Friday night to get everyone acquainted, when new friendships are made and old ones renewed, and then one on Sunday night with a live band. Things are really starting to shape up and this promises to be one of the most interesting and eventful Conferences to be held. All we need now is YOU! Be sure to fill out a registration form and have it returned as soon as possible, for this is one conference you won’t want to miss. YOUNGSTOWN All the members of the group are working to make the B.Y.F. Conference a big success. Car washes, raffles, dinners, and other projects are being undertaken to send our members to the August conference. In May the group served the Mother’s Day Dinner and also held a raffle. We also helped serve the Father’s Day Dinner, June 15th. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION Dear former Bethlen Youth Federation Members: Our Bethlen Youth Federation has for a long time been faced with the problem of older members “dropping out” because they reach an age where they have a lack of interest, or the general membership is too young. It is always a sad feeling when you say goodby for the last time at a National B. Y. F. Conference. You leave with many wonderful memories of past events, and treasured friendships which began in the B. Y. F. In an effort to rekindle these friendships and to continue to grow and fellowship in our Christian faith, we have been very fortunate in having Mr. Bob Szepesi provide a solution for our problem. It is called THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION. This is an effort which can only succeed with your support. Anyone who has been a past B. Y. F. member, and is 25 years of age or over, can sign his name on the Charter Member List of the Alumni Association by contacting your pastor. If you have any further questions, I will be very glad to help in any way I can. May the Lord bless and keep you. Piknikünk az utóbbi években az akroni és környéki magyarság nagy találkozójává nőtte ki magát, reméljük, hogy ebben az évben még többen leszünk, mint szoktunk lenni. A Fellowship Circle férfiai Ladich Ernő pénztáros vezetése alatt kitűnő Apák Napi ebédet készítettek, melynek tiszta hasznát egyházunk új beruházásaira ajánlották fel. A Dorcas Guild sikeres pikniket tartott junius 9-én este a templomunk körüli egyházi területen. Magyar Nőegyletünk szorgalmas asszonyai tésztakészítésekkel és sütemenycsinálással segítik egyházunk munkáját. Ifjúsági csoportunk eredményes autómosást rendezett. Az így szerzett pénz is elősegíti fiataljaink nyárvégi táborozását. Lelkészünk nagyhatású igehirdetést mondott Copley középiskolájának végzett növendékei és szülei előtt az iskola nagytermében.
